Best wishes for him in his treatment. He always seemed like a great guy.

Dikembe Mutombo Mpolondo Mukamba Jean-Jacques Wamutombo. He has a very cool name.

I hope he recovers. It seems as though these African NBA players that do good for their country die very young. Manute Bol. Perhaps it's a lowered immune system caused by depression. Depression caused by seeing all that suffering.

One of my faves of all time. Hope he can do the finger wag after he beats this condition.

Best wishes to one of my favourite players of the late 90s-early 2000s.

Not just a great player but one of the greatest people to ever play in the NBA. Hope he gets well.

Seems like a great dude, hopefully everything goes positively for the defensive legend.

Best Rim Protector of the 90's (2nd would be David Robinson)

You should not miss Olajuwon and Mourning in that argument.

Those other two are close. I would say as rim protectors 1st-Dekeme 2nd-Robinson 3rd-Mourning and 4th-Hakeem

Hakeem though was the better man to man defender than those other three (aswell as being a better offensive player).

It doesn't seem to be specified whether it is a cancerous or benign tumor. Eitherway, I hope he gets well. He seems to be getting the best treatment that can be gotten.

Usually a few weeks/months after a news like this we receive a sad report that the person has passed away. :(

Yeah man.

Mutombo was one of those players that was so recognisable and easy to stan when I was a kid. I think one of my first Slam magazines had Mutombo on the cover. It was that year I really got into basketball, playing with my brother every day.

Time flies man, don't know how to avoid getting sentimental.

A reminder that I love you all ISH posters

Imagine if it's an adenoma tumor, the tumor that makes it so that a person continues growing.

Always can be something with anyone at anytime. I know we here and we joke on things in humor but this is certainly sad to hear.
