The Moon is tidally locked to the Earth. And the Earth will finally become tidally locked to the moon in about 50 billion years.

It would look something like this, for ever.

Of course the Earth will probably be no more in about 5 billion years from now, swallowed up by the sun.

Personally... I think the moon & sun's relationship with the Earth, and all of its mathematical coincidences just serve as proof of a creator.
