What I read was that he was mad he was getting cooked on the switch and he just took him out in frustration but I watched not one second of that game so I’m here for more information. Can’t trust Twitter trolls. Not that you can trust our trolls either but I have a better idea of who has credibility at least.

jokic has shown temper problems in the past so i wouldn't be surprised if it was a frustration move

I think it’s pretty clearly a frustration foul.
That said, it looks a lot worse bc of the size difference and because Sexton went flying, objectively it wasnt really that dirty or dangerous of a play. Definitely a foul, but not anything youd expect league punishment for.

If it is I may reluctantly sanction it. Can’t miss the days of physical play then bitch when one of the only old school minded tough bigs still adheres to the goon rules and takes you out just for playing well or making his team look bad.

^Used to be expected from those 80s and 90s holdover bigs.
You can win. And you can light me up. But don’t put any kinda razzle dazzle on it or I’m gonna get my fine money ready.

In as early as 2010 or so this foul would’ve been seen as gamesmanship. Trying to knock Sexton out of rhythm.
I remember Fisher tried to knock Scola out with an elbow and it wasn’t at all shamed by the broadcast in the 09 playoffs.
Jokic does get angry and choppy though, I think this was pure frustration. Bad but could’ve been worse

Yup, and frankly those fouls where a guy is in the air and defenseless are much worse, and I can understand why the league punishes them. Whereas Sexton was on the ground and facing Joker, had time to brace himself. Again the size difference and the fact Sexton sold it a bit makes it look more severe at first… but it’s really just a hard common foul IMO.

Yea….looks like a pissed about being picked on situation.
Caption claims this went on for 2 hours.
Charles Oakley wouldn’t put up with that.

Definitely a frustration foul. Jokic has a temper and had gotten used to the soft Jazz defense of prior years. No more 47 points on Gobert

but his 6th straight loss against the soft Jazz D. Didn't even need Greg Monroe for this one
in other news jokic's 34 per puts him on pace to break his own record

I always hesitate to make judgments based on little clips like this. It certainly appears to be a dirty play, but I don't know what preceeded it. For example, if you just saw the video clip of Jokic shoulder-checking Markieff Morris, you'd think Jokic is just a thug, whereas if you saw what it was a response to you'd see that Morris totally brought it on himself.
So dirty play? Yes. For a reason or not? Don't know.
