For what it’s worth though America has a higher rate of people in prison than Cuba, worse healthcare, a MUCH inferior literacy rate, much worse LGBTQ laws, and a MUCH higher homeless population. Also, Cuba, despite being a small country under the yoke of American imperialism still has a comparable life expectancy to America. Ouch.

How is the US worse than Cuba? Are there shopping malls in Cuba? Grocery stores? Electric vehicles? National Parks? Theme parks? How's the internet over there? And cell phone coverage?

The difference in prison population between the US and Cuba isn't huge. However many of the prisons in Cuba look like something out of Mad Max. If our criminals knew they had to go places like these, trust me they'd definitely revise their risk vs reward assessments. I'm good with dumping our worst criminals in filthy dark places like Cuba has. Are you?

I said Cuba was better in many ways I didn’t make a direct comparison. Are you denying Cuba has free healthcare, unlike America? Are you denying Cuba has some of the best doctors in the world and has developed vaccines the US doesn’t even have? Are you denying Cuba has a significantly higher literacy rate than America? Are you denying Cuba just passed much more progressive LGBTQ related laws than America has? Are you denying Cuba has a much lower homeless population than America? Are you denying Cuba has a lower rate of people in prison than America?

Cuban doctors are considered excellent and have developed vaccines America doesn’t have. It’s true Cuba doesn’t have a good history with LGBTQ stuff, but the laws they just passed are better and more comprehensive than the ones we have is my point. You guys think I like Cuba when I don’t like it at all (I detest every state), I’m merely pointing out things Cuba is better at than America. America is really not that impressive compared to many other countries.

Btw-If you’re privileged, sure America is a better place to live than Cuba, but if you’re not Cuba has a lot of things that would make life easier for you. Cuba is also suffering from American imperialism and has been since the revolution, they would be much more successful otherwise. This will I’m sure be taken as a defense of Cuba when I already stated I’m not pro Cuba or any other state. But whatever.

It’s incredible how whenever corporations and billionaires want handouts it’s acceptable, but whenever we want some thing for the bottom 99% it’s always “that’s socialism” or “ we can’t afford it”. And I do think we need some form of capitalism. We just need govt to step in and regulate goods and services that are extremely inelastic like housing, medicine and food. The basic needs should be met, we can afford that. You want a Ferrari and a mansion though? Go out there and hustle.

And as far as implementing socialism, the countries who actually implemented the most: Switzerland, Sweden, Norway; are also the best places to live, despite supporting more billionaires per capita than the US.

Don’t try and turn america into a socialist society. Just go live in China, Cuba or Laos. -those are the only 3 countries that are considered socialist according to World Atlas.
