He's carrying the Cavs big time without Garland.

He's obviously a good scorer but those slash lines will not hold up. And I don't think that he makes teammates better.
Mobley has all but been iced out of the offense.

Mitchell went the final 2:27 without a field goal attempt (aside from the last-second prayer when the buzzer sounded), as the scrappy Raptors cranked up the defensive intensity and swarmed Mitchell on every touch — a strategy that wouldn’t have been possible if Garland was available.

Have you actually watched the Cavaliers' full games?
He was a superb playmaker in the first 2 games. Ok, only had 4 assists in the 3rd game, but 37 pts will do the job.
Mobley is not "iced out". When he got the ball, he made a lot of awkward offensive plays and has trouble scoring.
His offense is still a big work in progress.

Yeah so bad. The Cavs only got 2 out of 3 wins largely because of Donovan, without Garland.

Not in full, no. I've had other games on and when they've played at the same time as the Hawks I pay little attention.
But I feel like Mobley is someone at this point that needs to get the ball in spots that are favorable for him, and when he does he can do damage. I don't really see that happening so much thus far.
When you win it's not such a big deal but there WILL be 6-19 shooting nights for Mitchell and I'm not sure he has enough overall to be a positive player in those times. Not really a knock, as there aren't too many guys that can still be a positive while shooting poorly.
It's an issue I've had with Mitchell for a while though. Maybe I'm wrong because like I said I haven't watched the full games. But to me it seems like he's playing really really well at the moment, but I'm not sure how long that will last and what things will look like when he comes back down to earth a bit.

Mitchell’s only real problem on offense is IQ. If he played smarter and more under control he could perhaps be closer to someone like Lillard. As it is he’s still a highly impactful offensive player and impact numbers back it up.

I agree about that one. But I feel that's on Bickerstaff not running good plays for Mobley. I don't get why they don't give him some mid-range looks. He needs to be featured like a Kevin Garnett/LMA to open up his offensive game. He definitely can hit that shot.

To be fair, a lot of folks were suggesting theyd be BETTER with only one of those guys rather than both. It remains to be seen how well they fit together.
Mitchell’s obviously a good scorer, the issue historically is hes mainly a tunnel vision scorer who doesnt playmake as much as youd want a guy getting that many touches to do. Garland has looked to me like a similar player, so the chemistry between them will be somethin to watch for.
The thing with Mitchell is I dont think he’s the niftiest ball handler, so he cant run the point like a guard, but he also lacks the size to make plays from the post like a Luka or Jimmy Butler. He’s mainly a shoot or go to the rim guy, without much nuance beside that. Again, hes good at those things, so he can get his points. I just feel like hes a guy that when game plans start coming in during the playoffs, hes not that much for opponents to worry about. He might still get his points but hes not really gonna figure out how to beat you as the team’s quarterback.

This season has literally gone as bad as possible for him so far. Wolves looking mediocre and Toody being meh, Jazz playing great, Mitchell playing like a MVP and Cavs dominating. All his narratives are going up in smoke :oldlol:
