2016 regular season Curry is still peak Curry to me. Legit broke the game of basketball.

But I think he could potentially repeat that. Confidence is an amazing thing in basketball, and we've seen players have awesome follow up seasons when the win a chip/FMVP. Curry knocked all haters away after last year, so he is playing a "free" as he ever has.

I'm excited to see what he can do, especially since he doesn't have to share the spotlight with Durant.

Imo, I think we saw a similar lvl of 2016 Curry with 2021 Curry.

Dude was on a tear late into the season. He averaged 37.3 ppg, 51.8% shooting, 46.6% from the 3pt line, 90.8%, 70.8% TS, 6 rbs, and 4.6 apg during the month of April. Just insane numbers comparable to his 2016 year.

In 2016, he was more consistent, but he also had Klay. In 2021, Curry was carrying that team hard.

And time will tell if Curry will have another season like that. So far, he has been playing well though.

This doesn't even address the issue though. Tom Brady for example has had plenty of monster seasons, but his '07 one will always remain his best not just because of his production, but because they went 16-0. Yes, Curry has played incredibly well this year so far (and in 2021), but they're likely going to lose more games before Thanksgiving than they did in all of 2016. It's the 73-9 record that will always make 2016 stand out as Curry's best, and why this thread was always ridiculous. He would've needed that historic team success for this year to EVER be considered in the realm of 2016.

I feel like that's a different discussion. He'll be remembered for 2016 more than any season as an individual. But that's more to do with the team and not the individual. Although Curry 16 is likely to be his best season in individual stats too, but I feel 2021 is up there given the context. To be acknowledge by the public is one thing, but acknowledging for your "best" is another. Barkley for example, his best play was in Philly. But everyone remembers his 93 version due to him winning mvp and making the finals. But that wasn't his "best". It's similar to all sports really. People will remember the most memorable action.

Imo, for individual quality of play, Curry had a great run in 2021. And so far, this year, is having another run. Team wise? That's an entirely different story. His team has been disappointing, given the talent that they have. I'm sure they'll bounce back, but not anywhere close to the 2016 Warriors team.

Curry will likely wear down and his level of play will start to decline this season or the near future as he has to take on more of the workload with the decline of Dray/Klay.

Curry doesn't impact the game like he did in 2016 before injury, not even close. In 2016 he needed like 5 minutes in some random 3rd quarter to absolutely take the souls of his opponents.

He can't do that anymore. Now he is smarter and stronger and better defender though, so he picks the right spots to bring the max value to his team with what he have.

You realize he's had seasons of the same effect since then?

Another 50 bomb for DINGO.

Curry is at 33ppg on 70%TS LOL.

Dude is insane. Crazy how the rest of the Warriors are playing terrible this year.
