The interview is absolute fire, one of the best I have seen by an NBA player. Derrick is a ****ing philosopher. He is among the biggest intelectuals among NBA players. The injury was a blessing in disguise because it helped him transform into a higher consciousness instead of just being one of the generic superstars. And the fact that he can recognize this is proof of how much he has grown. Absolute legend.

Yes. Just before you arrival here I would tell the board that Rose's work with the youth was very different and necessary. The full interview covers how wild and unpredicatable his neighborhood was. Another great before him was shot down in HS. Its such a narrow path to get out of that neighborhood. Yet for him to do it and get MVP only to have an injury take a superstar career away from in. Grit and determination still part of his career. He's got multiple successes and is still about purpose and enlightment. A different dude.
