View Full Version : If Jordan would have played as long as LeBron, he’d have passed Kareem
Jordan likely scored close to 40,000 points.
If LeBron shot as much as Jordan, he would retire with over 46,000 points (this is backed up by simple math, not an estimate).
In either scenario, LeBron still destroys Jordan’s points totals. Why? Because LeBron is simply more efficient as a scorer. LeBron averages 1.380 points per shot attempt, while Jordan averages 1.316 points per shot attempt.

Steve Kerr would've scored more than Jordan if he shot more
Applies to any player
So it's a pretty dumb argument that doesn't even include FT's or turnovers

MJ..... mentally tough enough to play 20 straight seasons??

First 3 games of 2010 ECSF........ 34 on 53% (2-1 lead)
Last 3 games of 2010 ECSF........ 21 on 34% (meltdown)
Lebron melted down in the 2010 and 2011 Playoffs
And he was choking again in the 13' Finals before Ray Allen saved his entire career
So Lebron is a mental midget
The ability to create your own shot is a skill. It's not as simple as "oh, if he shot just as much as player x, he would've scored more, etc." Jordan is probably the greatest shot creator in NBA history.

If he didn’t retire in 94, and 3/4th of 95? Those are 30 - 32 ppg seasons.
If he stayed in twilight years as an old man not competing for chips but just playing ala LeBron post 2020 and Kobe post 2013 … at 36, 37, 38 in 1999 - 2001 seasons? He’s be putting up 25 - 28 ppg those seasons easy.
Then yea he would’ve demolished it.

Well, he didn't and he is now yesterday's news. So please stop posting about this dinosaur. Thanks, management.

Not really, he’s still the bar. He’s always being talked about.

Actually you’re wrong. He wouldn’t have.
Now you feel stupid. With no numbers to back up anything you say

The reason Bronie didn't shoot as much as Jordan is because he sucks at contested jump shots. Jordan was far more versatile, and thus could shoot under a broarder array of circumstances.
This is common knowledge.

If LeBron had entered the league in 1984 instead of 2003 and his team drafted The Great Scott Pippen in 1987, he would've had 9 rings.
