Impressive basket, but way too much dribbling. There was a cutter he could have hit for an easy two, but he took a difficult shot instead. Good for him that it went it, but it's a low-IQ play in my opinion.

Good move, but he needs to be less ball dominant

Luka was spectacular last night.

The reason you keep coming back to Luka as a fan is that he does learn from mistakes. As annoying and whiny as he is, he does learn and get better.

Last night he was much less ball dominant and played way more defense. A true MVP performance.

He'll learn, only 23, and when he it clicks that he can get almost the same stats while not dominating every possession, then he'll play defense and then he will be gunning for Kobe, Lebron, MJ, Wilt, Bird, Shaq etc.

And it will be sooner rather than later. This kid is on par for top 10. We'll soon have a real discussion about new rankings. Next 10 years worth of debate is coming.

Maximum ballhogging and then a contested fadeaway. Kids do this on the playground. Insanely stupid move and Doncic is overrated.

Luka, even out of shape, can crack the top 20 easily.

But, he will have a hard time cracking the top ten, and will not smell the top five UNLESS he:

1. Stops drinking so much. His body can recover fast now, but as he gets closer to 25, his body won’t be able to recover as well each year. Alcohol also is a big part of why he still has so much bodyfat. Because alcohol turns to bodyfat overnight, especially when paired with excessive carbs at night with the alcohol.

2. Takes perimeter on- ball defense more seriously. Luka is a decent positional post defender, but his on-ball perimeter defense is horrible. Especially when he’s tired, and doesn’t even try. He lacks the athleticism to EVER develop into an elite perimeter defender, or into a good run protector for his height (6’7”) but with effort, and practice, he can at least become a decent perimeter and help defender, and not disappoint his teammates during key stretches where team defense is key to series success.

3. Increases his 3pt% and FT%. They’re not bad, but they’re not elite yet. This will be the easiest adjustment for him to succeed at, and early this season, he has already been far more efficient so far, and shooting better from the FT line. This addition to his game is already visibly starting to improve, and it will erase any complaints about his ball dominance. Because when your offensive efficiency and offensive versatility is better than the best TEAMS in the league, per possession, no one can complain about your ball dokinance but being a wining trait. See: Jordan PPP and other advanced metrics were better than any team, so him being ridiculously ball dominant, WAS a winning trait.
