If the Orlando Magic are planning to retire a Jersey number it should be Dwight Howard. He played more seasons for the Orlando Magic than Shaq, Penny, and Mcgrady.

If the owner holds grudges for players leaving at their peaks then it make sense. But if that's not a consideration and they just want to award accomplishments it should be Shaq Penny and Howard. McGrady has a case but never winning a playoff series hurts even though it's not his fault.

No one stuck around long enough. Penny got injured and then traded, had a short career as a superstar. Shaquille O’Neal demanded to be shipped out of town to LA. They traded Tracy McGrady for Steve Francis, like idiots. Dwight Howard wanted to imitate Shaquille O’Neal, and went to LA, after back surgery was for the most part never a superstar player again. And they haven’t had anyone since that’s a transcendent level player. They’ve only been around 30 somebody years
