View Full Version : Wouldn't it be fun if the NBA did a midseason tourney with weird rules?

Like do all those weird experimental rules that people are talking about.

4 point shot
2.5 point three pointers
3 point dunks
Defensive 3 seconds
No goaltending (euro rules)
etc etc

Use that tourney as a way to experiment with the rules.

Yeah I would love to see them do that...I'd also like to see them try this

Quarter 1 - 5 on 5
Quarter 2 - 4 on 4
Quarter 3 - 3 on 3
Quarter 4 - 2 on 2
Overtime - 1 on 1

The ideas might be fun/interesting in theory, but players wouldnt take it seriously as a competitive thing, it would basically be the allstar game. Except the actual all star players would probably sit out.

Half points are the worst idea ever. Scores should never, ever, ever have decimal points in them.

Would give nerds a place in watching parties.

What's the score poindexter!

No, I like tradition. Hate the play in tournament as well. The ASG is stupid.

None of todays players are competitive in all-star games regardless. I doubt anyone really cares for it anyway.

I would be interested if it were East vs. West like it used to be. The pickup game style doesn't interest me in the least.
