Why did Wilt shoot like 3 feet behind the foul line?

During the final 33 seconds of game 7 in this series.

A 36-year-old Wilt blocks a jumper that would have put the bulls up by two possessions and ended the game.

And it's also important to note that a 36-year-old Wilt with stat-line for that game seven was

21 points (10-17FG,1-1FT) in 48 minutes 28 rebounds, 8 blocked shots, 4 assists plus the series-winning block and outlet pass

Wilt changed the way he shot free throws many times during his career with the 76ers and Warriors he shot underhanded most of the time.

After he went to LA he adopted this strange free throw form for what reason I honestly do not know.

Maybe he just wanted to get the free throws done with as quickly as possible.

I've said this before but the more Wilt footage I watch the more and more I'm convinced that his case for being the 2nd best defensive player ever is rather strong.

It would have been interesting to see Wilt on Boston from 1959 to 1973 in place of Russell as I am convinced that under Red who would have used him to his fullest potential they would have terrorised the NBA and won at least 9 to 10 titles together.

As in the 4 of his 14 seasons in which he was coached to play like Russell in a system that was basically the same as Boston's.

Here are his team’s records for those years:

68-13 (all time record for wins)
62-20
69-13 (all time record for wins, different team)
60-22

That's a 79.2 winning percentage which just shows you that his coaches really should have utilized him as Russell on steroids from the start of his career instead of making him average over 40 PPG to sell tickets for ownership.
