One of the four University of Idaho students who were brutally stabbed to death posted a heartbreaking message online hours before her death — saying she was “one lucky girl” to spend every day with the close-knit group of friends.
Kaylee Goncalves shared the message on Instagram along with photos of herself surrounded by pals who included Ethan Chapin, 20, Madison Mogen, 21, and Xana Kernodle, 20.
“One lucky girl to be surrounded by these people,” Goncalves said.
Shortly after posting the photo, the 21-year-old was found dead Sunday with Chapin, Mogen and Kernodle in an off-campus home.
A few weeks earlier, Goncalves posted several photos showing her and Mogen growing up together, according to CBS News.
“I wouldn’t have wanted anyone else to be the main character in all my childhood stories,” she wrote.
Mogen responded: “I love you more than life! My best friend forever and more.”

Horrible.
Horror movies of those kind are literally an advertisement for psychos and killings.

I wouldn't be surprised if it stemmed from that.

We all look at things through the lens of what we can relate to. And this reminds of what I mentioned a few weeks ago about the possibility of this guy ending up killing me due to great resentment. (I should have taken Patrick's Chewing advice at the time to stop being so nice).
So the way I see it, the killer, probably got extremely resentful and full of hate due to the social media images and the last Tweet by the girl saying that she's so lucky to be surrounded by her friends.

It doesn't change the fact that movies like Terrifier can influence those that are mentally disturbed. Such as yourself. If we as a country were to put for emphasis on mental health and institutionalize more people, then we might not have to worry about psychos who will watch a movie like this and perhaps try to act it out.

But a murder like this? After a movie like Terrifier comes out? This is clearly the more important story.

More crazy details. Two more people were in the residence while the 4 were killed. They must have been sleeping real hard to not hear anything.
Police weren't called to the scene until 8 hours later. As sad as this story is, it's the mystery that makes it entertaining.

Theres no way this attack was the result of a random home invasion.
Either the perp is one of the two people that were "sleeping", or it is someone who held a serious grudge against one of the victims (a jealous ex-boyfriend or something).

Probably a wanna be Ted Bundy without the charisma or comeliness. Plus with social media, modern forensics and digital tracking it will be very difficult for us to see another serial killer of young girls that people will miss or are interested in as a story. Only killers like like Samuel Little, who concentrate on the dregs of society, have a chance at being at being "successful" because they don't have family who will miss them and people could care less about
Edit:Nevermind, it looks like one of the girls followed him on IG. Not a wanna be serial killer

There was a reason why Kaylee was calling her ex repeatedly right before she was killed. My ex called me from Florida recently telling me that some guy was trying to kidnap her and her friend. So it is something women tend to do when I guess they have no other male figure to help/protect them.

What a Surviving Roommate Heard That Night
One of the surviving roommates told police she heard and saw the killer inside the shared off-campus house on the night of the murders, the affidavit states.
The roommate, identified in the probable cause affidavit as "D.M." said she heard a man in the home who said something like "it's ok, I'm going to help you."
D.M. said she and her roommates were all home by 2 a.m. on November 13. The roommate told police she was asleep around 4 a.m. but heard Kaylee Goncalves, one of the four students who was later murdered, playing with her dog upstairs.
"A short time later, D.M. said she heard who she thought was Goncalves say something to the effect of 'there's someone here,'" the affidavit says. The document notes the utterance could also have come from another victim, Xana Kernodle, who was believed to be awake at that time.
Surviving Roommate Saw Masked Man in Home
One of the surviving roommates of the four University of Idaho students murdered in their home in November told police she saw a masked man in the home at the time of the killings and he walked right past her.
The roommate, known in the affidavit only as D.M., told police she opened her bedroom door after the third time she heard crying.
When she opened the door, she said she saw "a figure clad in black clothing and a mask that covered the person's mouth and nose walking towards her."
D.M. described the figure as "5' 10" or taller, male, not very muscular, but
"athletically built with bushy eyebrows."
She said she stood in a "frozen shock phase" as the man walked past her towards the sliding glass door.
D.M. then locked herself in her room after she saw the man and told police she did not recognize him.
The affidavit also notes that at about 4:17 a.m., a security camera near the crime scene picked up a "distorted audio of what sounded like voices or a whimper followed by a loud thud."
A dog was also heard barking "numerous times" on the camera locates less than fifty feet from victim Xana Kernodle's bedroom.

What I still don't understand is why that roommate who was apparently "frozen in fear" from seeing an intruder wearing a ski mask in the house, didn't notify police till nearly 8 hours later that her roommates were dead. She made no effort to walk upstairs and check on her roommates or call them? Weird as hell.

Doesn't make a lot of sense atm. Especially how he was able to kill all four without everyone being dead asleep. From what I understand this guy did box in high school but he was no Navy seal. If Kaylee Goncalves and Xana Kernodle we're awake the whole time, it's very peculiar he was able to dispatch 4 of them without the first victim screaming blood murder and the rest running out of the house. Unless he had an accomplice
Should be interesting to hear the real facts once the dust clears

FULL TIMELINE:
Saturday, Nov. 12
Starting at 8 p.m.
Chapin and Kernodle went to a party at Chapin’s fraternity, Sigma Chi. Roommate Bethany Funke told police she saw them there between 9 p.m. and 1:45 a.m.
10 p.m. to 1:30 a.m.
Security footage showed Mogen and Goncalves at the Corner Club bar in downtown Moscow.
Sunday, Nov. 13
1 a.m.
The two surviving roommates were home by this time. Both had been out in the Moscow community, but were not together.
1:30 a.m.
Twitch live stream showed Mogen and Goncalves at a downtown food truck known as Grub Truck. The food truck was parked at 318 S. Main Street, about 0.2 miles south of the Corner Club.
1:45 a.m.
Kernodle and Chapin returned to the home at 1122 King Road, according to Funke.
1:56 a.m.
Mogen and Goncalves used their sorority’s designated-driving service to go home from the food truck.
2:42 a.m.
A cellphone number connected to Kohberger’s home address in Pullman showed the suspect leaving his apartment, according to records in the affidavit. Cellphone data from towers showed Kohberger traveling south through Pullman until 2:47 a.m., when the phone stopped reporting to the network.
3:28 a.m.
A white sedan with no front license plate was seen on video footage going west on Styner Avenue near U.S. 95 in Moscow. King Road lies 0.6 miles west of that block. That vehicle was later identified as a Hyundai Elantra by an FBI forensic examiner.
3:29 a.m. to 4:04 a.m.
Camera footage captured the vehicle driving past 1122 King Road several times.
As it neared the area a fourth time, according to the affidavit, the vehicle could be seen going past the house before stopping in front of an apartment building, turning around and driving back toward the house.
4 a.m. to 4:17 a.m.
The affidavit detailed the surviving roommates’ accounts of this time frame. Dylan Mortensen’s bedroom was on the southeast side of the second floor, Funke’s on the east side of the first floor.
Both said everyone was “asleep or at least in their rooms” by about 4 a.m., with the exception of Kernodle, who received a DoorDash order around that time.
Mortensen said she was awakened by what “sounded like Goncalves playing with her dog in one of the upstairs bedrooms.” Shortly after, she thought someone, maybe Goncalves, said “something to the effect of ‘there’s someone here.’”
Kernodle was still awake and using TikTok at 4:12 a.m., according to phone records. For this reason, police said they believe Kernodle could have been the person Mortensen heard.
The comment caused Mortensen to open her bedroom door to look out, she said, but she did not see anyone.
Mortensen also thought she heard crying from Kernodle’s room and a male voice say something to the effect of, “It’s OK, I’m going to help you.” She opened her bedroom door a second time.
4:17 a.m. to 4:25 a.m.
A neighbor’s security camera, located less than 50 feet from Kernodle’s bedroom, “picked up distorted audio of what sounded like voices or whimper followed by a loud thud,” and the sound of a dog barking.
Opening her door a third time, Mortensen told police she saw a male figure walking toward her dressed in black clothing and a mask that covered his mouth and nose. She didn’t recognize him, but estimated him to be at least 5 feet 10 inches, “not very muscular” and “athletically built with bushy eyebrows,” according to the affidavit.
Mortensen told police that she stood in a “frozen shock phase”’ as he walked past and went out the back sliding glass door, according to the affidavit. She then locked herself in her bedroom.
Investigators later found a shoe print that they say may have been left by the intruder just outside Mortensen’s bedroom door.
4:20 a.m.
Video footage showed the white sedan departing the King Road home area at high speed.
4:48 - 5:30 a.m.
Kohberger’s cellphone reconnected to the network along U.S. 95 near Blaine, just south of Moscow. The phone continued to utilize cellular resources traveling south to Genesee before heading west toward Uniontown, Washington, and then north back to Pullman.
Cellphone location data matched the movement of the white Elantra captured on Pullman and Washington State University security camera footage, arriving at Kohberger’s apartment complex at 5:30 a.m.
9 a.m. — 9:32 a.m.
Cellular tower service linked to Kohberger’s phone showed him leaving his Pullman residence and traveling to Moscow. The data showed Kohberger returning to the King Road area between 9:12 and 9:21 a.m., before returning to his apartment at 9:32 a.m.
The cellphone linked to Kohberger showed no connection to any towers providing service to Moscow after Nov. 14.
Who is Bryan Kohberger? What we know about suspect in the University of Idaho homicides
11:58 a.m.
Moscow police received a call about an unconscious person at the home on King Road. The 911 call was made from inside the house on one of the surviving roommates’ cellphones. Multiple people spoke with the 911 dispatcher. Officers arrived and found the bodies of the four victims.
In the affidavit, police reported a tan, leather knife sheath “laying on the bed next to Mogen’s right side.” It was stamped with the inscriptions “Ka-Bar” and “USMC,” for the Marines.
The Idaho Bureau of Laboratories later found single-source DNA — meaning it came from just one person — on the button snap of the sheath.

CONTINUED...
12:36 p.m. - 1:04 p.m.
Cellphone data showed Kohberger visiting Kate’s Cup of Joe coffee stand in Clarkston, Washington. Surveillance footage from a store opposite the coffee stand shows a white Elantra drive past the coffee stand.
At around 12:46 p.m., the Elantra is captured on surveillance footage at an Albertsons in Clarkston. The footage shows a man who appears to be Kohberger exiting the Elantra.
3:07 p.m.
The university posted an alert on social media that said police were investigating a homicide on King Road. The post said the suspect was not known and advised students to stay away from the area and shelter in place.
3:46 p.m.
The school put out a second alert saying police did not believe there was an active threat, and the “shelter in place” advisory had been lifted. The alert warned students to “remain vigilant.”
5:48 p.m.
Police confirmed the homicides for the first time in a news release.
Monday, Nov. 14
11:22 a.m.
Moscow police identified the four victims and confirmed that all were students at the University of Idaho. The department said in a news release that no one was in custody and repeated that it did not believe there was an ongoing risk to the community.

Tuesday, Nov. 15
9:27 a.m.
Moscow police confirmed in a press release that an “edged weapon such as a knife” had been used to kill the victims, but the weapon had not been located. The department continued to tell the community that there was “no imminent threat.”
4:30 p.m.
The FBI confirmed that it was assisting Moscow police. An Idaho State Police spokesperson confirmed that the FBI had arrived on Monday and that state police had been assisting since Sunday.
Wednesday, Nov. 16
4:30 p.m.
Moscow and state police, along with university officials, held a press conference for the first time. Police Chief James Fry backtracked on the possibility of ongoing danger, saying he could not confirm that there was no threat to the community and that residents should “remain vigilant.” He also admitted he should have had a press conference sooner.
Friday, Nov. 18
Kohberger registered his 2015 Hyundai Elantra with the state of Washington, according to Washington State Licensing. The Elantra was previously registered in Pennsylvania, which does not require a front license plate. Both Idaho and Washington require front and back plates.
Friday, Nov. 25
The Moscow Police Department asked local law enforcement agencies to be on the lookout for white Hyundai Elantras.
Tuesday, Nov. 29
Washington State University police searched for white Elantras registered at the university, finding one that belonged to Kohberger at the address 1630 NE Valley Road, Apartment 201.
WSU Officer Curtis Whitman drove to the apartment complex and found it sitting in the parking garage. Upon running the car’s information through the university’s database, he found Kohberger’s license information and photograph. Police believed this matched Mortensen’s general description of the suspect.
Tuesday, Dec. 13
Moscow police acquired Kohberger’s phone records dating back to June. Kohberger’s phone utilized cellular resources around the King Road residence on at least 12 occasions prior to Nov. 13. All but one instance occurred in the late evening or early morning hours.
Thursday, Dec. 15
Body-cam and dash-cam footage released by the Indiana State Police showed Kohberger and his father pulled over twice within a 10-minute span along a stretch of eastbound Interstate 70. Kohberger’s father had flown to Washington to make the 2,500-mile drive home back to Pennsylvania, Kohberger’s public defender in Pennsylvania told CNN.
Kohberger was behind the wheel of his white 2015 Elantra and identified himself to police on both occasions. When asked where they were going, Kohberger said the pair were going to get Thai food before his father interjected and said they were traveling from Washington State University to Pennsylvania.

Tuesday, Dec. 27
Pennsylvania agents recovered trash from the Kohberger residence in Albrightsville. The evidence was sent to the Idaho State Lab, and results found that DNA from the trash highly likely — over 99% — belonged to the biological father of the suspect, based on the DNA from the knife sheath.
Friday, Dec. 30
Kohberger was arrested and taken into custody on a fugitive from justice warrant at approximately 1:45 a.m. at his parents’ house in Monroe County. He was detained at Monroe County Correctional Facility while awaiting extradition.
Tuesday, Jan. 3
Kohberger waived his right to extradition in a Pennsylvania courtroom.
DNA evidence, cellphone records led to U of I homicide suspect’s arrest, document shows
Wednesday, Jan. 4
Kohberger landed at the Pullman-Moscow Regional Airport in Washington approximately 15 hours after departing Pennsylvania and three weeks after leaving the small college town with his father. He was transported to the Latah County Jail in Moscow by a convoy of police vehicles at approximately 7 p.m. Pacific time.
Thursday, Jan. 5
Kohberger made his first appearance in Idaho court. Magistrate Judge Megan Marshall read him the five charges against him — four counts of murder in the first degree and a felony burglary charge — and he acknowledged he understood.
Marshall also read out the maximum penalty should Kohberger be found guilty: a death sentence or imprisonment for life.

You are right she waited hours to tell police. The description in the photo was misleading. Trauma or no trauma. It's absolutely crazy she waited until noon to call the police. We are truly a weak species, not only will some of us not put up a fight, some of us can't even can't even call for help

Poopsie's never ending obsession with this story is downright ghoulish.
I think it's because of the sodomy.

The only thing I've read on Twitter is that there is a perception that she may have thought the house was being burglarized, and out of fear, just locked herself in the room and eventually fell asleep. Maybe she tried calling the other roommates, but she may have thought everyone else was sleeping as the reason they didn't pick up. Everyone reacts different to certain situations, and we have to remember this is a basically a kid encountering an intruder for the first time in her life. She was probably drunk and high and super tired, but still, if you're frozen in fear as she describes, the first thing I would be doing is calling people left and right. And her 911 call is also suspicious. They describe her call as reporting of an unconscious person. Unconscious? There must have been so much blood everywhere that you would have definitely known that they were stabbed to death if you actually walked into their rooms to check on them. So my thought on that is, being as ignorant as she was, she probably was still in a perpetual state of fear, she called out for her roommates, and because none of them opened the door, she immediately called 911. So it's a possibility that she never saw their bodies or never knew they were dead until police got there and went into the rooms to see.

The question you should be wondering is why this psychopath randomly slaughtered 4 people for no reason. Not what a terrified little girl did or didn't do. That's called victim blaming.

You can't question what why a psychopath does what he does. But for a normal person, it's puzzling behavior

Maybe she was also in shock?

But two girls survived, right? In the timeline you posted there's only described events for the one girl who saw the attacker. Maybe they both fell asleep again, but it seems pretty odd and I suppose they're kind of lucky that he didn't enter the house when coming back hours later and before anyone had called the cops yet.

Guy is fat through high school and can't get any girls, is ridiculed instead.
Goes all vegan in college and loses a lot of weight, still can't get girls because he's socially inept.
Goes to the Mad Greek restaurant where one of the girls work, likes her and starts to keep track of her because he can't get her to date him(I read he went to the house a bunch of times in the months before, but only stayed there a few minutes each time).
Goes to her house that one night again and sees another car or man entering the house, thinks "his girl" is getting dicked by someone else.
Debates with himself what to do and turns his car around on the road three of four times while doing this, finally deciding to confront them or off both her and the guy, but gets startled when other people in the house opening doors for rooms and yelling for people to be quiet. Leaves in panic without the knife sheath that he should have never brought inside if he'd planned it.
My guess is something similar to that.

So apparently there are two bedrooms on the second floor, and one of the bedrooms was occupied by Dylan Mortensen, the girl that witnessed Kohberger in the house. The second surviving girl was living on the first floor which only has an entrance by the front of the house. It is suspected that Kohberger entered the house by the sliding glass door on the second floor which is towards the back of the house by the kitchen. And this makes sense as to why Dylan Mortensen actually saw him because in order to leave the house out the sliding glass door in the back, you have to pass right by her room. It's suspected that he killed Xana Kernodle and Ethan Chapin first, and then went up to the third floor and killed Kaylee Goncalves and Maddie Mogen. Honestly, I think he meant to kill Maddie Mogen as you described in the rest of your reply to Off the Court. He probably made advances to her where she worked, and she wanted nothing to do with this weird and awkward guy with psycho eyes, and that only enraged him. So I think he killed Kernodle and Chapin thinking he was actually killing Mogen, and when he realized he killed the wrong girl, he went upstairs to find her, hence why Mortensen says she thinks she heard Goncalves say "I think there's someone here", meaning that Kohberger was upstairs looking for Mogen. Once he kills Mogen, he then goes back downstairs ready to get the hell out of there, but is then encountered by Mortensen back on the second floor. Now, based on the affidavit, his bloody footprint is found standing right outside her door, so I'm thinking her "fear" was so paralyzing cause I wouldn't be surprised if he doubled back and tried to open her door. That's why she was literally frozen in that room until she walked out nearly 8 hours later.

Its beyond odd, especially considering that both of the survivors were wide awake at the time of the attacks - one of them heard crying coming from somewhere else in the house and then saw the attacker walk right past her (which she says left her terrified and "frozen in shock"), the other one received a food delivery within 10 minutes of the attacks. I doubt there is a single human being on this entire planet that would be capable of just hiding in their room and going to sleep after seeing a masked home invader sneaking through their house at 4am. Even if she was too scared to check what was going on in the rest of the house, theres still no way she would have just gone to sleep - she would have done something like call her roomates (or the police), or just jump out of her window and run to her car or a neighbors house... and the girl who had her food delivered within minutes of the attack somehow did not hear or see anything whatsoever?
