If LeGM was insistent on retiring a Laker while still being on a contending team, why didn't he just let his contract run out at the end of this season and re-sign for 20 mil or something so we can sign some good roster pieces? Everyone blames Pelinka for this awful roster but no one questions LeGM signing that contract extension. Of course LeGM knows more than anyone else that he is washed after this season and will never likely see a massive contract ever again. But when you're a certified billionaire, what does it matter? How much help AND money does this guy need??? Let's face it LeGM only cares about one thing and one thing only: LeGM. And now my Lakers are locked into mediocrity for the foreseeable future :facepalm Dude does not deserve that Kobe farewell max deal

The lakers are 35 or 40 million under the cap after this year even with Lebron. They have 70 something million in expiring deals which may be why they kept Russ. He’s a 47 million dollar expiring deal. Maybe there’s a plan. Throw it all at Middleton or Vanvleet or something. Other than Kyrie not much out there next offseason.

He did. The supermax is a pay cut for his talent level.

There's PLENTY of things to criticize Bronie about. But not voluntarily taking a pay cut isn't one of them. Would YOU take a pay cut?

Now whether he's actually EARNING his pay this year is another story entirely...

because he doesn't care about the team. he doesn't care about winning anymore and just his stats. win or lose this season is 2nd priority now. his main focus is surpassing kareem in the total points category. he is a billionaire, money is not a thing for him anymore. he should have taken a paycut

NOPE
Middleton is a Buck for life.
Bron is showing other players how to make money and ignore all the lost chips.
Bison was right should been a down grade for him , and increase the rooster into a solid team.
