If you can fit guys like Brandon Ingraham and Julius Randle on there who only played in LA for like the first 2 years of their careers and achieved nothing noteworthy while being there, you know your list is unnecessarily long. Theres no need to even make a list long enough to put those guys on it.

Yeah.

I think when you reach Kurt Rambis, you should stop the list.

The HR is for Hot Rod. A guy who became a broadcaster but should be clowned forever if only for this:

"I had one thought in my mind when the ball came to me: 'Do I take the shot?' I was wide open," Hundley recalled. "I thought, 'If I make it, I'll be the mayor of L.A. But if I miss, they'll be riding me out of town on a rail.' So I elected to pass it to Frank."

.

He came open off a fake but elected not to shoot out of pure cowardice. Frank missed the would be title winning shot and they went to OT where the Celtics won game 7.

And Hot Rod knowing he choked called Frank yearly for 50 ****ing years to say “Nice shot Frank” and hang up on him.

He should be barred from all lists for that alone.

The more I look at this list, the dumber it seems. Like Fultz pointed out, if it has guys like Caruso, etc., it's a pointless list.

If you made a top 75 Bulls of all time list, you'd probably have Vucevic on it.

Sedale Threatt was my first favorite Laker player when I started watching as a kid in 1992. I liked him because Chick Hearn called him "The Thief" for getting so many steals plus he was a great shooter from about 20ft out.

Bran over Wilt is a ****ing joke. Wilt played 5 seasons in LA and made 4 Finals & was the best player on the 69-win squad in the RS & won FMVP to top it off. Him being ranked 10th is ****ing stupid.

So just making the Finals is a big deal for Wilt?

They were relevant every single year with Wilt and had the best RS in franchise history with the greatest winning streak in NBA history with Wilt leading the way. The '72 season alone from Wilt shits on whatever Bran's done in LA. It's a shame they didn't track blocks and steals and give out DPOYs at the time because Wilt would have won a bunch of them. He wasn't scoring as much but was still the most impactful player on the team and shut down Kareem when it mattered in that '72 WCF. Wilt at age 36 in the WCF blocked prime/peak Kareem 17 times in that series. Held Kareem to 13/33 FG in Game 5 and 16/37 in Game 6. Kareem only had 7 FTS combined in those last 2 games as well. Matched his minutes, playing 45.8 mpg at age 36.

This is not a Lebron vs. MJ debate where we're looking at entire careers and separating the two by their Playoff success, this is just about who had the better career in a Lakers' uniform. I'd take 4 Finals, best RS in franchise/NBA history at the time over 1 Finals and 1st round exit/lottery.

Hypocrite much?

yes because this is entirely the same debate as comparing Bran and MJ and using their Playoff success to separate them..

If both had won the same amount of rings and Bran had way more RS + PO success you'd have a point, clown.

Did they need to do a 75...no

1. Jerry West (if we judge career not just playing)
2. Magic Johnson
3. Kobe Bryant
4. George Mikan
5. Kareem Abdul-Jabbar
6. Elgin Baylor
7. Wilt Chamberlain
8. Shaq
9. James Worthy
10. Lebron James

And really...Gary Payton, Karl Malone, Bud Grant, etc,

Wilt as a Laker:

1972 NBA Champion

1972 Finals MVP

4x All-star

4 Finals Appearances in 5 years

4 Rebounding Titles

3x FG% Leader

1 All NBA second team

2 NBA All-Defensive First Team

Lebron as a Laker

2020 NBA Champion

2020 Finals MVP

1 assist title

4x all-star

1 All NBA first team

1 All NBA second team

1 All NBA third team

Wilt is easily over Lebron as a Laker.

There are people who actually think Lebron should be considered a Lakers legend for what he's done thus far.

Just to recap:

2018-2019: Didn't make the playoffs

2019-2020: Wins championship at bubble

2020-2021: First-round exit with a 4-2 loss

2021-2022: Didn't even qualify for the play-ins

2022-2023: Didn't make the playoffs.

Wilt would have made way more final appearances for his career had he had the luxury of playing in the weaker conference and being able to avoid Boston until the finals.

It is interesting that in the one year that a prime Wilt played in the weaker conference in 1964 that he made the finals.

While averaging over 38 PPG in the WCF vs the Hawks.

I can imagine Wilt just putting up monster numbers in the Western playoffs every year

As Wilt' averaged staggering numbers against the Lakers in the decade of the 60's.

As overall, in those 86 games he played against them in that decade here were his numbers.

40 Point Games: 42

50 Point Games: 19

60 Point Games: 7

70 Point Games: 2

High game of 78 points.

Wilt was just very unfortunate in that he had to see Russell and his Celtics dynasty every damn year in his own conference.

As in 5 of the 7 seasons, he spent in the West he reached the finals.

Solid list. A small objection is Mikan is too low. If you're ranking everyone in franchise history from the dawn of time he's gotta be a top 3 Laker. Baylor over Shaq is also weird and rubs me the wrong way but I guess the list rewards loyalty.
