It's starting to be the worst trade in NBA History. Nobody new that SGA is capable of averaging 31.1 ppg.

There are maybe 5 players every decade that would be worth giving up an absurd haul like that. PG, as good as he is, ain't it :lol

Clips got ripped off and that's a major haul for PG... but those picks will only get them role players in the draft. Can they package those picks for a disgruntled star? They prob could, but that's not OKC's M-O. I don't even think they can package a lot of those picks for a top 3 pick, teams don't trade those. They are gonna have to hit on a slept on player like Donovan Mitchell in the draft.

Well in essence that trade got them PG and Kawhi, since Leonard agreed to come to LA contingent on a follow up trade for PG if Im not mistaken.

In hindsight you could argue it still wasnt worth it given how things have played out, but I think at the time most would have given those assets up for a KL/PG tandem.

If Kawhi stayed healthy good chance the Clips would have had a title by now so no I don't think the trade was bad. It was a trade made by a team looking to win a title in the short term not build for the future. Of course now with hindsight it looks bad but at the time it was a good move.

Plus I love SGA because he's Canadian but he hasn't exactly proven anything thus far. Lots of guys can put up huge numbers on bad teams.

Wasn't he healthy in 2020 when he blew a 3-1 lead and played miserably on game 7 vs the Nuggets?

Theres not a good chance they would have a title.

Yea, I can't remember the details offhand, but this looks somewhat similar to the trade the Celtics made for KG in terms of lots of players/picks for 1 guy.

Had the Celtics not won a championship, we'd have been looked at as losing that trade.

If the Clippers had won a championship in the last 3 years, we wouldn't be having this discussion.

And now the Jazz are doing the same with their recent transactions with CLE and MIN. OKC has lots of room to build and it looks like they might finally have a guy to build around in Shai. Plus Chet coming back next season it looks like OKC will start working their way back up to playoff contention starting next season.

You dumbasses

Kawhi wasn't going there without PG

So it was Kawhi AND PG for all that.

Was it still worth it?

Probably not...but put some real context in

If this were to happen today it'd PG + 1 or 2 picks for SGA

I doubt anyone expected SGA to be the most productive player in that deal. :lol

Are you stupid? kawhi wouldnt have gone to LA without PG in the mix. They have failed because of unfortunate Kawhi getting rocked when they need him the most. Just super bad luck. Steve Ballmer has the money for another rebuild if it really comes down to it anyways.
