Lol Embiid will always be 3rd fiddle at best.

He's never winning an MVP or anything in the playoffs

He doesn't have it.

Giannis always turns into game 7 Lebron vs us so I expect him to make 3 or 4 threes tonight plus drain 80% of his mid ranges

And embiid will lay his balls across brook’s lips and score 40 points if he wants to

Just play Bball Paul for 5 god damn minutes, Doc.

Give him some more experience guarding Giannis.

Just 5 small minutes in a regular season game in November. Is it too much to ask?

Paul in lets go!

Paul Reed in in less than 2 minutes:

Fakes Giannis out and wins a jump ball.

Hits a sweet hook shot in traffic

Helps PJ, Stops Giannis getting an open dunk and sends him to the line for 1/2.

Gives Maxey a crucial pick to open him up for that three point attempt on the buzzer and sends Hill into him for a foul, giving him to the line for 3 ft.

Ends with a +2

Now watch Doc bench him for the next 10 games :hammerhead:

I thought Joel tried to go one way and Giannis went the other and it was just a collision.

But looking at it again Joel seems it take a shot at him :oldlol:

It’s crazy how high Giannis is gonna finish all time given how clumsy and uncoordinated his game is.

I mean it’s effective, so Im not trying to ‘hate’ on him. It’s just kinda wild how if he was 6’0 tall he’d legitimately be useless on the average adult rec league team. He’s genuinely not as “good at basketball” as guys at the YMCA gym. I cant imagine theres any other top 100 player you could say that about.

You can’t say it about him if you’ don’t think like a child.

Literally only let him finish lobs, putbacks, and uncontested garbage buckets he’d be a 18ppg DPOY without getting designed touches.

Nobody at the Y could score a basket within 10 feet of the spot he was standing when they decided to shoot it.

But of course children and the dreaded “casuals” don’t really care about basketball when they say these things.

Kyrie is the GOAT or close to it to a lot of that type.

Youre doing the thing where you purposely ignore what I actually said so you can argue a point I didnt make again?

I clearly said if he was 6'0 instead of 6'9 he wouldnt even be good on a rec league team, and he's the only player in the top 100 I can think of like that.

I said he's very effective the way he is currently and the way the game is called. But he's by far the most unnatural offensive player in the modern era that ever came anywhere near an MVP award, let alone winning two of them.

That was my point. That he's an extremely clumsy offensive player relative to everyone else around his all time ranking.

That was my point.

That was my point.

Thats was actually a good win.

Doc gets no credit, however, as he was forced to play everyone available due to all the injuries.

Good to see Shake hits some shots again.

I see your point, but listen: we don't mark down players because they're physically gifted.

I hate this notion; it's something often suggested in boxing. Why are Giannis' accomplishments and abilities any less valid? One's height, length, weight, and athleticism are a gift, just as one's shooting touch or dribbling acumen.

Steph Curry was a better shooter than others from day one. The same can be said for Kyrie's dribbling abilities.

He's just unique in history for how disproportionate his stardom is to his ball skills.

A lot of people who go by resumes think he'd be a top 15 guy with another title. When you look at the names of all the players in the top 50 especially, and even the vast majority of players in the top 100... they all have appreciable skill with a basketball. Giannis really doesnt. He has the skill set of a kid who gets picked last on the playground. He just happens to be built like Zeus (pun intended).

I dont dislike the guy and I'm happy to see him succeed, he seems like a good dude. It's just interesting how much of an anomaly he is relative to other all time greats. I think it says something about how the game is played/called today.

He’s genuinely not as “good at basketball” as guys at the YMCA gym..

Which is the kind of thing people say when they have absolutely no idea what an NBA basketball game entails.

Take Maurice from down the street and drop him into the nba. Not being able to shoot(Even if it looks like he can versus YMCA defenses that cant close a gap on a shooter like the NBA can) wouldn’t even be a top 5 reason he’d destroy whatever team had to play him.

Defensive positioning. Rebounding. Boxing someone out. Offensive positioning. Reading a screen. Hell setting a screen. Do you know how hard it is to complete cross court passes with people like Lebron and Giannis between you and the guy you’re passing to? Do you know how strong Jrue Holiday would seem to the guy at the Y trying to attack him in a game that matters?

The number of turnovers, layups given up, offensive rebounds allowed and so on?

The guy at the Y would be -44 in 29 minutes.

Basketball is only how pretty your dribbling and shooting is to people who not only don’t play organized basketball but aren’t even around it.

Just seeing a few college practices the last year I really wish some of these stupid scenarios would play out just so I can stop hearing some arguments.

Giannis would probably be the best shooter in a lot of gyms. Guard him with ymca dudes and say no layups. He’d look like Dirk. The worst shooters you can think of in the nba look like Dirk vs mortals if they actually care to show off.

Jason Collins would score 128 off nothing but post fades if he decided to do it vs the people in question even if you brought in tall ones.

Giannis is a lot better at basketball than any of the YouTube tutorial “I coulda walked on….” petsmart iguana cage cleaners athletic nba guys are routinely compared to because fans think basketball is an and 1 mixtape tour of fancy moves that mostly don’t work.

And he’d be better even if you didn’t let him shoot at all.

Are you telling me the mental game is what separates NBA ballers from the average guy around town?

Is that what you are saying RIGHT NOW?

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0qLf3em1uIU

Are you saying that? Tell me guys at the rec league cant hack the mental game against NBA level competition.

Guys at the rec league given 40 minutes of PT would somehow generate an hour long shaqtin a fool highlight reel.

The number of times someone like Steph would have one of them going in circles off the ball would be hilarious.

Let Gerald the lot attendant for a Garth brooks show on an nba court and make him set the down screen on Zion to free his man for 3.

Hed somehow be both run over and called for an offensive foul.

The difference between up the street ball and organized nba play is too wide to explain without sounding like hyperbole.

Listen, if you think Giannis is highly skilled... that's fine.

That's certainly not how I would describe him, but you're entitled to your opinion.

Giannis skill level is low for an NBA superstar but if he had “no skill” he couldn’t be used as a primary ball handler and playmaker or create offense for himself. If he had “no skill” he’d look like DeAndre Jordan or Rudy Gobert on offense (and to be clear those guys don’t actually have no skill, although by nba standards they might as well).

You said something stupid because like many people you can’t criticize without going overboard. And that would be fine if you could admit it. But like most…you can’t.

Really athletic people have been making fans act like morons for 100 years. The best shooter you know from the gym would look like the worst player on the planet in an nba game guarded by Patrick Beverly taking it serious.

Some would look half decent in a street ball game that doesn’t matter and has no structure or coach who will get on your ass for being lost on defense but real basketball?

The inability to box out alone would get every single person you watch down the street benched in the nba long before we get to the fact some of the worst players in the nba are the leading scorers for entire states. Dudes like Deshaun Thomas are Mr.Basketball in their state, McDonald’s all American, all American in college and get drafted 58th and never play a game in the league but shoot 40% from 3 in euroleague.

That guy is bigger, more skilled, and more athletic than the people at the Y by 400 miles and he can’t make a 15 man roster to be a practice player only.

Whatever you think Giannis is those people you think are better at basketball are a lot worse. Basketball isn’t who makes the most jumpers shooting around(though he’d make more than most of them doing that as well). It isn’t handles while not being defended either.

Its 5 people vs 5 others and most people…even the ones who can shoot uncontested shots in the driveway…don’t know how to play it. Lucky for them casual fans think basketball is a jumper some scrub barely closes out on and how coordinated you look spinning by the guy who paints the tips at the dildo factory.

It isn’t. Basketball is very structured on high levels and nba players know how to play it a lot better than you think the few who can’t shoot when guarded by other nba players can.

Bucks hit the funk button and has lost 4 out of 6 games.

They are without middleton, Pat .C / Mathews and tonight just got back Holiday .

Once they are back we will start rolling again.
