I hope the NBA bring back the art of low post scoring

Big Al was fun to watch, it's a shame he ended like he did, with the league basically blackballing low post centers, seeing as how a number of them have made a return (Jokic, Embiid etc).

God he was awful to watch. Inefficient black hole

:lol

You're not entirely wrong. He had nice post moves and could score but didn't do a lot else well.

There aren't many post-up big men that are featured on offense anymore....BUT.... almost all of the top scorers in the league have good-great post up footwork that they use to abuse mismatches.

Luka, Embiid, SGA, KD, Tatum, Giannis, Booker, AD, Jaylen Brown, DeRozan, LeBron....all these guys will post up willingly when they have the right matchup, even if they start with the ball on the perimeter.

How did you forget Jokic arguably the best post player in the league

He was a terrible defender but inefficient? Not at all

He was inefficient in terms of scoring, look at TS% (although you should compare it to league average TS%, because the league was less efficient when he played). Although it's ironic Xiao uses that for him but claims Donovan Mitchell is inefficient because he has below average FG% and ignores his TS% numbers. Almost like he moves the goalposts just to justify hating on players he doesn't like.

Jefferson's inefficiency is somewhat overstated though because he basically never turned the ball over. Which is very valuable.

Big Al's issue was that he avoided contact and as a result barely went to the free-throw line.

Similar to Vucevic.

Yeah in terms of TS% he was. Not sure why he also claims Mitchell is inefficient when he's not. Maybe the first two years you can argue that but since then his TS% has been above average

He claimed Mitchell was the reason the Jazz lost in a series in which he averaged 36+ PPG on almost 70 TS% :lol

You'd think big guys like Vucevic and Jefferson would thrive playing physically. Al was a solid 270+ pounds in shape.

49% from the low post. Not quite Mark Eaton bad but he certainly wasn't Dantley, Malone, Boozer etc.
