Time to face the reality. Ben Simmons has been playing well. He seems like he's a decent fit with the Nets, and in the last game he was +19 in the +/-.
Not only that, but the Nets are slowly working their way up the standings. I'm thinking that firing Nash was a great move.

25.8% Turnover rate with only a 14.6 Usage rate. How do you turn the ball over so much when you're never even trying to score?
You cannot trust a ballhandler in the playoffs who will not shoot and can't shoot free throws efficiently. I don't care if he has a decent month or two in the regular season. He has one of the lowest points-per-touch in the entire league right now. Good things do not happen for your offense when he is on the floor.

He started because of injuries and had one decent game and he is flourishing? A slight exaggeration perhaps? :lol
Funny tho he is now playing back up center, not point guard. Hilarious really considering his feelings were hurt and sat out a year because his coach said he didn't know if he should be playing point guard.

I watched the last game he made 4 shots as a target 2nd option.
Rest of his buckets were scrap.
he is not flourishing unless a div 2 player plays with the weak ass Nets.

I think its time to start accepting that Durant may be the 2nd greatest ever after LeBron.
Every season, no matter how bad his cast and lockerroom, he finds a way to lead his guys to being a contender. This season will be no different. And he's MVP candidate again putting up amazing numbers.
It's time we talk about him as a GOAT.

He's had more than one decent game. He's played well the last three at least.

Nooooo…you don’t say…. Now imagine if listening to a fan base everywhere worked….imagine if the sixers would actually fire doc….imagine what this team could do without his awful rotations
Look at the jazz with a new coach…look what the griz did with a new coach… the hornets + wizards should also fire their coach…. But that’s just me looking from a far, I don’t watch them too too much

Last 3 games he's put up 16/9/5 on 84.6%FG and the team has looked much better with him on the court. He's slowly getting there. He clearly wasn't ready to start at the beginning of the season and it hurt the team but a healthy Simmons is very much a net-positive player. He's not going to need the ball in his hands in Brooklyn with KD and Kyrie there and hopefully they know how to use him properly in the POs and not put him in a position where he's going to the FT line in crunch time.

I guess if there is an Australian basketball hall of fame Simmons may make it on the first ballot but he is still well behind the likes of Andrew Gaze, Luc Longley and Andrew Bogut.
Simmons may now be functional on a day-to-day basis but I still don't for a moment believe he will come through in the clutch for the Nets in the playoffs. He's a headcase with a broke jumper. Not Nash's fault that he couldn't fix this dude's issues.

He has looked better than he did a few weeks ago but he was starting from a low bar.
He doesn't look anywhere near a perineal All-star, which is what he once was. Until then you can't say he is flourishing.
Tonight is going to be interesting. I would hope he comes out all guna blazing with a point to prove . Joel is out, it would have been remarkable to see Ben play centre against him, but unfortunately we won't see it tonight.

He doesn't have any offensive pressure on him as long as Kyrie and Durant are on the floor because they're basically 60 points on their own. If he can find his pocket as a defender, rebounder, bring the ball up the floor then roam around off-ball and wait for opportunistic 'garbage' scoring around the basket he'll be fine.

And Simmons didn't play in that postseason. 0 turnovers. I'm sure the Nets were ecstatic with that playoff performance.

Celtics just made the Finals and are currently in first. Tatum first team AllNBA and a strong candidate to repeat. Simmons might get 10 points if he gets a nice hug and sucks his binky before the game. You really dumb enough as a Nets fan to go here after your squad got swept while Simmons was in his feelings? I'm not sure what your psychological damage is but you and Simmons both should be seeing someone.

Tatum had a all time choke in the finals, almost 2011 level bad, you lot wouldn't even have reached the finals if Simmons and Middleton were healthy.
You swept a crippled Nets team congrats mate you want a cookie :oldlol:, Boston aren't winning shit with Jason TurnoverTum as the best player

Celtics already won the East which means Tatum has achieved a much as any Nets team ever has in the NBA. You are talking trash when your boy has gone in the playoffs and had a one point game. Was so bad in his Philly finale that he had to take a mental health year. And what has Simmons done in the NBA finals? Conference finals? It's crazy how you have no room to talk and just do it anyway. We should be thankful the Nets haven't won shit in years the board needs the months you take off after the inevitable humiliating failure.
