He only played the Spurs two times before Gervin was on the Bulls and he had 45 and 38. One of those games was after the all star game being talked about in that video. Whatever Gervin knew obviously wasn’t enough.

Did Gervin hated Mike when he played for the Chicago Bulls??

Didn’t have a problem spinning out of a double team left handed then driving baseline left handed and dunking it over Ewing for the and-1

On the way to his first of six titles.

Gervin losing hella respect RN.
Fukk was he thinking ? Son must be senile.
What a ridiculously stupid thing to say.
Maybe he thought they were talking about Tyreke Evans ?
GTFOH GEORGE, you done.

He said that about rookie MJ to be fair and he did say that Jordan evolved and was unbeatable either way once he hit his prime.

the left hand thing is something players use as fodder for the media that never played basketball and therefore aren't aware that you can't make many junior high teams without being able to dribble and finish with your left..

Certainly, top varsity teams won't allow guys on the team that can't use their left hand well.. There's obviously tons of exceptions but this is the general rule and the way it generally is.

jordan's patented tomahawk is done most frequently going left before leaning in for the right hand jam and this was his standard in college.. don't believe me? the tape don't lie and there's tons of it

when guys like gervin and isiah say this stuff, i think they're referring to jordan's handle in general, which was often fueled by athleticism over actual ball control/footwork at the beginning of live-dribble drives (before settling into a pure guard handle after beginning the drive).. However, Jordan had the proper footwork when initiating drives and simply didn't use it unless he needed it, like the game-winner over Russell in 97' Finals (notice the footwork before the shot) or his battles with Reggie Lewis (clip above)

He did, Louie.

Gervin was still a baller in his twilight years and he wanted to compete for a chip but Mike wasnt able to do anything above 1-9 at that time before Scottie camed along. Gervin hated him for that.

Lol what? Definitely not true, but even if it were, what is George Gervin gonna do about it? He was a notoriously shitty, “witch’s hat” of a defender

Yes definitely, the greatest basketball player ever couldn't go left. Makes sense.

Nothing stupider in the entire universe of sport fandom than a Bronie:facepalm

Jordan said something similar about Lebron, he said whenever he goes left he is going for a pull up more times than not. He said he rarely goes all the way to the basket with his left, which is probably the case for the majority of right handed players.

Except with Lebron, when he goes left there is a big chance that he will play Hot Potato instead of pulling for an outside shot.

Another dumb thread from OP. But even if Jordan couldn't go left, which is silly, I guess he didn't need to seeing how he three-peated TWICE, huh?

Only difference is Jordan was actually an astute study of players and a great defender.

George Gervin was a horrendous defender.

And Mike’s advice about LeBron worked, that’s why he sent his apprentice out after that interview, during All-Star weekend of 2013, Kobe Bryant executed it and blocked LeBron on two straight pivotal late game possessions

This might explain why he couldn't beat John Rogers.

here's mj going behind his back with the same hand because he wasn't comfortable using his left. of course the casual tards try to hype this as "inventing some new move" 30 years later.

The Bulls were 20-44 in Jordan's absence that year with Gervin putting up empty stats. He's in no position to talk
