Spoken like a true kobe fan boy… mike was literally kobe but faster, higher basketball iq, bigger hands, could jump higher, better defender, more technically sound, more efficient, and a better scorer. The only thing the great kobe Bryant could do better than mj was get hotter as a streak shooter…. That’s it

The man has Kobe 1,Lebron 2, and mj 3rd that should tell you all you need to know abut shai… the man said kd is = to curry… when kd doesn’t have a leadership bone in his body and steph has a dynasty under his belt…. Cut it the fk out… and I’m a shai fan but stop it…get some help…”kd can do everything steph can”.I know one thing he can’t do…. Lead a team as the sole team leader… no having Westbrook be the alpha or dray…you be the alpha on Brooklyn…. You lead a team!

Stop disrespecting the game shai

He said on skills KD is #1 as in the best ever considering what he can do in his body type. He’s obviously not talking legacy shit in that evaluation as players usually aren’t.

A lot of basketball people think Kd is the best or right there as a straight basketball player. I was listening to Iggys podcast and he said to real basketball players “KD is top 2 and he ain’t #2”. And that was like a couple months ago.

Players are talking about how hard it is to alter his shot when he raises up. How hard it is to get your shot off around him with his wingspan. How he can handle and find the open man if your help comes. How he has range but the blow by ability so you can’t crowd him either. How he can finish going either way. They’re talking about playing basketball not the casual observer legacy checklist.

Fans and sports talk media just aren’t gonna see eye to eye with players on something like that.

Just another example of NBA players having bad takes on who the "best" players are. I can't stand when people say "NBA players know best" when most of them have awful takes.

Right.. and a bunch of randoms on message boards know better. Not saying SGA's take is particularly insightful either.

Dude, you have made projects that involve poster voting then rigged results.

You care what these randoms on a message board think.

They know best about the subject they are talking about but that doesn’t make their opinions fit the entirely different discussion of greatness which fans talk about because they have considerably less experience evaluating players the way players evaluate each other.

Nba players talk about how strong Jrue Holiday is core wise when you try to bump him and his hand strength and wingspan keeping you in a box where he wants you.

Fans talk all star game count, who the best help was, ppg in whatever series and legacy things.

They are having an entirely different discussion and it is hard to mix it with an abstract thing like career greatness which you have no choice but to do when someone asks you about all time ranking.

Players I’d say aren’t that informed about all timers.

Players know the players they have played a lot better than we do.

Still butthurt I called you out on your shameless rigging. This post just shows I have stuck a nerve. You still can't explain why you counted some obvious troll votes.

Yup me neither. I've noticed there's a whole lot of bias when they make their takes. SGA grew up with Kobe, but to say he's MJ on steroids is insanely ridiculous. And to say KD can do anything that Curry can is also stupid

NBA players are not necessarily good at determining the best players for the same reason that a good marine is not necessarily a good military strategist. It doesn't always take elite basketball IQ to be a great player. Knowing who contributes more to winning is a questiom better left to high-level coaches and analytics specialists.

That's not a bad analogy but many top military strategists also led countless soldiers to their deaths because there were ignorant of the factors actually taking place on the ground and determining battles. They could have learned a lot by actually talking to the soldiers. I think the best GOAT list can probably be made by creating a panel that includes players, coaches, analytical specialists, and journalists.
