Why was Harry Potter considered the most powerful wizard?

I actually finished Harry Potter for the first time. I was always under the impression Harry Potter is the GOAT magic wielder. After watching it I'm not so sure. He was the chosen one. But it doesn't necessarily mean he was the most powerful. I actually think Hermione was more powerful. Harry Potter beat Voldemort on a technicality. Otherwise Voldemort would have whooped Harry.

Please explain why Harry was considered GOAT. If not where does he rank in the Harry Potter world?

He's not considered the most powerful at all. People like Dumbledore, Snape and Voldemort are considered much stronger. Harry's pretty far down the list.

GOAT makes more sense but definitely not most powerful.

Harry Potter is not necessarily considered the most powerful wizard. He is indeed skilled in magic, but he only plays a role in the series, besides that there are other wizards and witches like Dumbledore, Snape and Voldemort who are stronger or more skilled.

He was yes. The prophecy from before he was born stated that he was the only one who could vanquish Voldemort. That's why he tried to kill him initially as a baby.
