Over the past 50 years or so, there have been outright superstars at the shooting guard position. From Kobe Bryant to George Gervin and so forth. Right below those superstars, you had these five players. DeMar, Joe Johnson, Mitch Richmond, Walter Davis and Sweet Lou Hudson.
These guys were putting up buckets. Leading teams to playoffs, making multiple All-Star and All-NBA Teams but for whatever reason, just never reached superstar status (but some here have reached the Hall of Fame.)
These Five players representing a decade of shooting guards were not quite superstar like some of their peers from said decade but still darn good.
How would you rank these 5 players? Is there one or two just outright better then the others? Should someone else from the decade represent the not there yet shooting guards?
1970s Lou Hudson
Peak: 25/4/5 - All-NBA 2nd Team, 6 Time All-Star, Hall of Fame
1980s Walter Davis
Peak: 24/3/4 - All-NBA 2nd Team, 6 Time All-Star
1990s Mitch Richmond
Peak: 26/4/4 - All-NBA 2nd Team, 6 Time All-Star, Hall of Fame
2000s Joe Johnson
Peak: 25/4/4 - All-NBA 3rd Team, 7 Time All-Star
2010s DeMar DeRozan
Peak: 28/5/5 - All-NBA 2nd Team, 5 Time All-Star
Who will be this current eras not quite superstar but still a darn good star shooting guard?

Is Devin Booker considered to be the best sg rn?
I was going to say Jaylen Brown, but he is playing more SF now.
I don't really know who will be that guy in this gen. It's probably too early to really tell. Shai in OKC might be that or Simons or Tyrese Maxey. We won't know.
You could say Zach Lavine or CJ McCollum or even Beal are like that right now.
Who are the shooting guards who have been considered outright superstars? West, Maravich, Gervin, MJ, Drexler, TMac, Vince, Kobe, Iverson, Wade and Harden? What about Ray Allen and Reggie Miller? Paul Westphal was a superstar during his best years was he not?
manu the forgotten one ginobili

I suppose it's fair to put Brown in that category right now but if the Celtics have another big playoff run and he gets AllNBA 2nd or 3rd team like he should he can cross the superstar threshold.

6 time all-star when making the all-star team was a big deal, doesn't make a player a superstar

Ray Allen good one, he was a ten time All-Star does that make him a Superstar? On the other hand, Chris Bosh made the All-Star team 11 times, does that make him one as well?

Earl Monroe
I didn't include Roy because of injuries as I'm pretty sure he was on his way to being a superstar. Good call on the others especially Greer and Jones tho Gail and Pearl were at one time All NBA 1st teamers. Monroe was possibly the Superstar of this bunch.
