View Full Version : Can AD stay healthy?

If he can play at this level for seventy games then the Lakers season might get really interesting. Same thing if Lebron can stay healthy and Russ continue to accept his sixth man role. Ultimately, the Lakers still have a losing record and have a long way to go to even make the playoffs.
AD deserves major props this year since he is clearly way better than he has been the last two years.

finally growing into what he was always supposed to become, yes.
would be a shame if an injury halts it.

Yes.. he's in his prime/peak years & was healthy for 5 years prior to the 2 seasons that he had horrible injury luck in. He doesn't have bad knees or anything that would shorten his prime.

It’s always in the back of my mind but he’s as healthy as I ever seen him in a laker jersey. Usually when he plays, he’ll have moments where he clutches his ankle after contact, rubs his back after a dunk, holds his knee or is slow to get back on defense. I haven’t seen any of that in the last 8-10 games or so. He looks spry and limber.

Hopefully. He's playing some of the best ball of his career and is truly an elite player in this current form.
But he's literally only had 2 seasons where he stayed healthy throughout. Kind of waiting for the other shoe to drop.

He and Lebron both had a ridiculous amount of nagging or pretty bad injuries for the last two seasons which has been a shame since we know what they can do together fully healthy...I'm afraid that Bron is just too old and out of his prime at this point. They really could've repeated in 2021 if they both didn't get bad injuries toward the end of the year.
To be honest, I don't trust either of them to stay healthy enough to make a serious run at anything.

If he does stay healthy, he has the potential for MVP, DPOY, and scoring title all in the same year.

i feel AD needs to calm down a bit, too much big dick energy lately, he's gonna hurt himself again.

Agreed. Overstated. He was the reason the Lakers were so good in 2020. And Rondo.

Hilarious that AD missed the next two games right after I made this thread :lol
Plus Lebron missed another game.
Lakers are fools gold, I still think they don't even make the playoffs because AD/Lebron most likely will miss too many games.

No, if Street Clothes was on ISH he would probably strain his fingers and get carpel tunnel after a dozen posts.

Trade him while his stock is way high. Get 1-2 all-star in return and some high first round picks. The guy can't stay healthy. So it doesn't matter how great he is playing if he can't stay healthy. AD is like the reincarnation of #GregOden. Sad but true.

They should at minimum consider it. AD's stock will probably never be higher than it is now, they could get a pretty good return if they traded him before the deadline. If I got a good enough offer it'd be a very tempting deal to make, you just can't count on him to stay healthy.
