View Full Version : it's an OBJECTIVE FACT that lebron's casts from 06-10' > jordan's from 85-89'

.
85-89' Jordan
* 1st year to 4th year teams (rookie low seeds)
* bad team defense
* no decorated teammates
06-10' Lebron
* 3rd year to 7th year teams (veteran high seeds)
* top 5 defenses
* 2x all-star (Zydrunas)
* 1x all-star (Mo)
* 2x all-star (Jamison)
* All-Defender (Varejao)
* 22/5/5 All-Defender acquisition (Hughes)
* COY Mike Brown (champion with Warirors)
2009 Mo............. #3 team defense... 17.2 PER... 2.3 BPM... 3.1 VORP... 0.165 WS/48
1990 Pippen..... #19 team defense... 16.3 PER... 1.8 BPM... 3.0 VORP... 0.087 WS/48
2010 Cavs.......... #7 team defense...... 3 scoring options (Bron, Mo, Jamison)
1991 Bulls.......... #7 team defense...... 2 scoring options (MJ, Pippen)
TLDR: Lebron took 3 years to develop his team into a veteran high seed before entering the 06' Playoffs, so his 3rd to 7th year teams from 06-10' can't be compared to Jordan's 1st year to 5th year teams 85-89'... The reality is that Lebron's 06-10' casts compared to Jordan's 1st three-peat casts (better defenses and more scoring options).. Remember that Lebron was GIFTED a player that was already achieving prime Pippen stats (22/6/5 and 1st team defense, aka Hughes), while also having all-stars Zydrunas, Mo, Jamison and superior team defenses.

5th healthy season
2008 Lebron..... 45 wins - needed elite spacing help in 2009 to be MVP, contender, or favorite.. and super-team to win a ring
1989 Jordan..... 47 wins - nearly upset the Bad Boys with trash cast - just needed to get over hump

Lol the 08 Cavs were far closer to upsetting an elite team than the 89 Bulls were.

Stop responding to him with anything serious, or even responding at all. The dude literally just wants attention.

2008 Lebron ECSF........ 26 on 35%
1989 Jordan ECF.......... 30 on 46%
So the Cavs nearly upset the Celtics in spite of Lebron, while the Bulls had a chance to upset the Pistons because of Jordan
That's a pretty big difference and it's a testament to the Cavs decorated, veteran-laden cast, including their top team defenses and rebounding

Lebron had Ben Wallace a 4x DPOY and champion as the only allstar on the squad and then he had Shaq who won allstar game mvp the year before and outplayed Lebron in pivotal game.

Orlando Woolridge was okay though
Not sure that he truly cared about basketball though.
He was one of those 80s SFs who took advantage of their size and scored from 10-15 feet in a fast-paced game but did nothing else. There's several who did it better but none were winning guys. Gervin, Dantley, King, English, etc.

Yea you're right he excelled in run-and-gun offenses but he was a good scorer and an explosive leaper. He was like a Bernard King-Dominique hybrid type that could get it going in stretches but he wasn't remarkable in any other area so He probably wouldn't have fit the Triangle Offense but imagine a MJ-Pippen-Woolridge trio where Woolridge plays the 4 and you have Grant at the five.
That could be lethal in stretches but again who knows how he would have fit.
A shame we couldn't see how'd he fair in more favorable circumstances though
