I don't know anything about this guy but I can say that an arms dealer generally speaking is someone that gets guns in the hands of dangerous people and that leads to death. To be convicted and imprisoned he was almost definitely putting weapons in the hands of groups that were working against American interests. But I don't know this guy's story.
