View Full Version : A college team managed to take nothing but 3s. 111 of them. Made 40.

That reminds me of when that one college player took 108 shots, including 71 3's, to score 138 points.

I hadn't thought about that in a while, but your OP reminded me about it :lol

I think it's time american basketball disengages from international basketball and declares itself a new sport.
This isn't basketball anymore. Not like how its played around the world. It's a different sport.
That's ok. We have rugby and australian football and american football.
You need to call it what it is though. It aint basketball.

May be close to time to considering a rule change to make other shoots more valuable. I know the Cs are the worst offenders here but the game is turning into three point spam.

They will probably make long 3s 4s.

Why make other shots more valuable, I think a better solution is make everything 2 points. You want to shoot from 30 feet? Knock yourself out, still just worth two points. Or maybe only the fourth quarter are threes worth 3. Because the time is coming where an NBA team is going to put up 100 three pointers. Probably next season or the one after that.

I think players sometimes forget the most efficient shots are at the rim or foul line.

Yep, would be more interesting to see it closer to being a mixed-bag instead.

I may be crazy but it seems like 3PA are down a little this year. Still lame and I still got tired of it years ago. Eliminate the 3.
NBA laughed when the ABA introduced it. People are going to tune out eventually. I hope.

But low-scoring games from the 90s are banal as well. It's always good to see a middle ground between the two i guess.

They won’t. The generations that remember it being any other way will die off and it will be all anyone knows. I knew it was over when I saw the nba post a crazy highlight reel of Jordan on his birthday and some kid on Facebook was like ”Wow that’s a lot of 2s”” or something like that and everyone was laughing at it like it was such an antiquated way to play.
The most amazing 2 is still 2. Worse than the easiest 3.
It’s what fans want and expect now.
