View Full Version : Dennis Schroder Says LeBron James Plans On Retiring At Age 45

LeBron James is rewriting what we think of players and their longevity with his incredible career in the NBA. In his 20th season in the league, LeBron scored 34 points in a win 2 weeks before his 38th birthday. The man is still playing at an elite level that no player his age or with the same miles on their body has achieved.

Considering LeBron's performance in the Lakers' win over Detroit, there shouldn't be many questions about his place in the league. James has made his desire to play with his eldest son, Bronny very clear. Bronny won't enter the league before 2024, so 2 more years is what many expected at the minimum. Increasing that to 5 and playing with both his sons might be an incredible accomplishment for LBJ.

Dennis Schroder has revealed to German media that LBJ intends on playing 5-7 more years in the NBA. Spending 7 more years in the NBA means LeBron will play till age 45 and possibly stay in the league beyond rivals that were drafted over 5 years later. That doesn't seem possible, given the heavy load of minutes LBJ has played over his extremely long career.

It's hard to imagine him staying in the league as a player after amassing a billion-dollar fortune from his work over the last 2 decades. But basketball isn't about the money for everyone, and LeBron will play until his body finally tells him he can't play any longer.

Is it possible? Will the LeHaters be able to cope with this guy sticking around for another 5-7 years?

I'd hate to see him go out COMPLETELY washed but it is what it is. Gotta respect a guy just loving basketball and wanting to teach his kids how to dominate the league and flourish as human beings. Maybe he can teach them how to direct movies also. :applause:

LeBron is already providing pretty minimal impact this year if you go by RAPTOR, he will be completely useless by that point. He’s delusional and unwilling to accept his decline. Pretty common with high volume superstar scorers though.

Why is having a conversation with yourself such a uniquely ISH thing?

I'm not sure you could have fooled anyone with this 10 years ago much less in 2022 where this board is a ghost town at this hour. For your own sake, please just stop.

The hell he is :lol

There's a reason no player has played more than 22 seasons. We've already seen signs of his decline and nagging injuries that keep him out for several games. Once you cross 40, those become even worse and more frequent.

Once he passes Kareem (this year) and play with Bronnie (in 2 years), there's literally nothing left he'd be playing for his days of being the best player on a championship team are over.

Load managing for what though? What would be seeking in year 25 or 27 that he doesn't already have now outside of passing Kareem this year or playing with Bronnie in 24?

For his son, maybe. Who he plans to play with someday.

He'll be able to play with Bronnie in 24, 2 years from now. This dude is talking about 2027 and 2029, same years those picks that Lebron has practically been begging the Lakers to trade are useable.

He's going for the Sammie Baugh, Nolan Ryan, Gordie Howe thing where he has the most seasons played

some team has to want him. Not many teams would want him right now. At vet minimum maybe? China will roll out the red carpet for him though

if he was smart he would quit immediately after passing up kareem. sticking around till age 45 averaging 25/8/7 will only further draw attention to his PED usage

i was tight with LBJ back in the 80s when he started averaging these crazy numbers. seems like yesterday we were at the michael jackson thriller party after he scored 50 on dr J's sixers

The sooner that smug, flopping, entitled piece of shit leaves the league, the better it will be for everyone involved with the NBA. The dude took honest competition and shit on it.

As stacked as they are, they certainly should be a super team. Of course, it's hard to be one in practice when LeDeadWeight keeps leading you to the lottery. :confusedshrug:

Doubt he plays for another 7 years. If Bronny gets drafted in 2024, I think LeBron will retire in 2025. So 2 more seasons after this.

na. if they did they wouldn't watch him. I hate some people like ex's and old friends that f*cked me over. I wouldn't even wanna see their picture or hear their voice. there's no way I could watch them for 2 or 3 hours every other night just to hope they screw up. hate is a strong feeling. people hate his fans. like there's no way I could sit at a bar with a lebron fan like the ones on here for 2 or 3 hours at a time. I'd end up throwing a drink in your face. that's hatred. if I ran into lebron I would just say something like "you're a joke. try winning a ring without PEDs, colluding, bail outs, bubbles and lockouts."

that's just trash talk. that's not hatred. but if I saw one of his fans somewhere saying he's the goat and kobe/MJ are trash I'd dump them in a trash bin by the ankles like Bill Murray did to Seth Green when he was a child sitting his his chair at an SNL taping
