Little-known fact is that he led the league in scoring for the entire '80s.
He's incredibly unrenowned for a player of his caliber. I'm sure most have heard his name, but hardly anyone can describe his player profile off-hand. Even so many career role-players from his time outfame him today.
Granted, there isn't that much to discuss about him as far as most modern fans care. He has few accolades beyond his All-Star appearances and single scoring title, and it's not like you'll find his biggest, above-mentioned accomplishment in a Wikipedia infobox. It's not like he had a storied playoff career, either, especially compared to all his Golden Age contemporaries.
He was easily a Hall of Famer, but he failed to immortalize himself in NBA lore mainly because he played on the wrong team at the wrong time.
