Remember this?
When was the last time that was true?
I don't think it has been true since 2015 and honestly, Lebron has been a net losing player on his own since 2018 imo.
At this point, over the last 2-3 seasons, Lebron is a tank commander as the best player.
He can and could contribute more, but it must be as the clear third best player.

An argument can be made that 2018 LeBron was his best offensive season, despite whatever stats say. I don't even know, I haven't looked. I just remember.

Peak Lebron was certainly capable of this. When he was 24 the energy that he brought on both ends won games by itself.

It's true that he probably peaked offensively from 2016 to 2018 because he finally got a shot.
At that point he had stopped playing defense entirely though.

No one thinks that about this old version of LeBron. He's a top 15 or so player in the league right now which is still impressive.

Yep, 2016-18 LeBron was for sure incapable of leading any team to the playoffs, another great take by OP as usual :applause:
Don’t forget, OP literally thought that Harden still played for the Nets, so you know he’s a reliable source for his takes on the game :lol

When is the last time he could do this?
Because players like Luka can definitely do this.
Consider if it was Lebron instead of Luka on those Mavs.

Not in this era and in this WC. East was piss-poor from 16-18 tbh.

The guy who took down a 73 win team and had b2b Finals runs of 33-34 ppg can’t even lead a team to the 8 seed? I know you don’t actually believe this :lol

He didn't beat GS by himself. They needed a Draymond suspension and for Kyrie to be the 2nd best player in that 3-game stretch.
8 seed doesn't mean the POs under the current system either. Could he make the Play In? Sure. Would it be a lock to beat the Mavs in this scenario? Probably not. This Lakers roster is very flawed considering that Bran absolutely needs the spacing. Cavs were in the top half in the league in 3PT shooting and attempts in those seasons, this team is not built to replicate that success.

luka is carrying a really bad team for 2022 to .500 so prime bron could do a bit better. I guess it's not technically any team of scrubs but even the worst team in the league by net rtg the spurs have legitimate talent with vassell keldon poetl etc. Prime Lebron can that roster to the playoffs in 2022.

In their primes, an all-time great should be able to drag any cast to the 8 seed
Btw, people that say Lebron carried bad teams in the playoffs are also saying that Lebron isn't capable of developing a decent team after 3 seasons - people forget that even though Lebron entered the league on a bad team, he got 3 years to develop this team into a veteran, high seed before entering the 06' Playoffs.. So if you think he didn't have a viable team in 06', then you're saying that he can't build a viable team after 3 seasons, which is contrary to what actually happened.
From 2006 to 2008, the Cavs had a couple 2x all-stars (Lebron and Zydrunas), a 22 ppg acquisition, a future COY and top 5 defenses - so they were high seeds - Lebron never had to carry low seeds or bad teams in the playoffs like young Jordan.
Otoh, tookie Jordan was added to a -4 SRS team in 84' but it was worse after his injury - the 86' Bulls were -4 SRS without Jordan and then removed their 1st and 2nd options before the 87' season (the bulls got rid of Woolridge and Gervin before the 87' season started).. So Jordan's roster in 87' was worse than it was in 85'.. The 88' roster was only marginally improved with rookie bench players added to the team.. Again, Lebron never had to carry bad teams like this in the playoffs, nor could he at an MVP level because he needs all-star shooting like Mo Williams and a good team to open up his drives - he could never be MVP with a bunch of lane-cloggers and bad team like the Bulls had in 88'..
