I would. That extra money definitely isn't worth destroying his mental health for. If he keeps playing and continues to get concussions, he's at a serious risk for developing CTE way down the line
He's already made millions of dollars and if he's smart with the money, he can easily live off of that for the rest of his life

What really shocks me is how some of these young NFL players who have passed away already had "advanced stages of CTE" when they checked their brain after death, Aaron Hernandez comes to mind. Demaryius Thomas who just passed away at 33 had stage 2 CTE.
Can you imagine the CTE Tua already has? 2 concussions in 4 days then another one just a couple of months later? I can't even imagine how his brain will look like when he dies if he decides to play an entire career.

It's sad that he might already have it, and he's only 24 years old. It'd be stupid to keep playing because more concussions are most likely inevitable which further puts him at a risk for developing CTE is he doesn't have it already.

Brett Favre had like 10 concussions. boxers have dozens.. wrestlers have hundreds
on the very rare occasion there's a chris benoit or a guy that doesn't wake up from a coma. shit happens. nothings perfect

if you wanna know the real problem it's the helmets got too big and padded and guys lead with them on hits
give them the old-school ones and guys will protect their own skull more and then guys wont be headhunting as much

Football is my favorite sport. I would be heartbroken if they canceled the league, but I don't see that happening anytime soon. The money the league generates is insane, makes the NBA look like the WNBA.
But you have to admit, when you hear stories like this, it's kinda scary.

you're the one advocating one of the top QBs retire cause of a few concussions.
Sidney Crosby had a bunch. he's still playing the most dangerous team sport there is. boxers literally punch each other in the head for 12 rounds. every guy that ever got speared by goldberg in wrestling took a hit like tuas. if you don't want your head to snap back tuck your damn chin

Junior Sea killed himself because of the brain damage he suffered, Aaron Hernandez literally murdered someone and doctors said he had the worst case of CTE they have ever seen for a person his age.
I guess it depends on the person, in boxing I notice retired Mexican boxers (excluding Fernando Vargas) still seem pretty normal when they speak. CTE tends to effect black boxers more, just look at the sad case of Meldrick Taylor. Floyd's dad and uncle Roger could barley talk as they aged.

you know that it's from your brain shaking in your own head. not from any direct impact. it's the force. it's inevitable with the force of hits. no amount of protection will stop the momentum and force created by sudden starts and stops of your head. there's literally nothing they can do about this shit except try harder to avoid guys and play smarter. it's on them. they signed up to play football. it's a game about knocking the shit out of people. and people are responsible for their own actions. the nfl isn't responsible for some random murderer.
the same shit happened when Chris benoit killed his family. everyone blamed steroids or concussions..know how many wrestlers have that same condition? almost all of them. so why did only one guy do that shit. its more so to do with a chemical imbalance. benoit looked like a f*cking retard with down syndrome

guys get knocked out in slap fight competitions.. its the lightest impact in terms of what's hitting you but because of the speed and force it shakes your brain.
you can knock someone own with a pillow if you swing it fast enough

Question isn't going to be about money as much as competition/purpose. You've trained all your life to play football and believe it's your calling. It's all you know for most of these guys. Life after football is unimaginable. You're living in the now. You're not going to quit unless they have passion for something else. I'd quit because I don't give a fucc about football but if it was my passion and what I felt I was born to do, I'd keep playing.

OP's just asking where you draw the line and if this is past that point. Your response is tangent to the question.

when they start showing signs of retardation. thats when its time to go because after the NFL this guy would only have a job cleaning towels at some local gym. might as well ride it out and get paid. save some money and prepare for the worst. no more fancy dinners and parties at the club. no more mansions and exotic cars. time to save

My god, your reading comprehension is so shit.
Anyways, it sucks that 3 years in, a guy like him is dealing with a decision like this moving forward. It has to mess with you. Like, you want to keep playing the game that you love, but at the same time, you have to look at your health risks. If he was older, I could see it being an easy decision, but currently, it has to be eating at him.

Saw this on Twitter
Tua had memory issues and inability to recall things after GB concussion. Doctors are taking this very seriously, to the point they told the coaching staff that they should not discuss ANY topics that could cause him stress, such as when he might play again.

Yeah too late. There is def. enough cognitive damage to affect his quality of life going forward.
These are the risks these players take to be in the NFL.

For every Seau or Hernandez, there are a thousand ex-NFL players who havent tried to kill themselves or anyone else.
If I was Tua there is no fvcking way I would retire... the risk of CTE is well worth the benefits that come with being a NFL QB IMO
