Lets say theres two players, one being Shaq, and another player, who is 6'3, and they both have the same skill level and talent. Yet, who will have more scores, more wins, more stats due to being taller? Shaq
Height is a great advantage/disadvantage for some players, and its beyond their control.
In boxing, a top 30 Heavyweight can smash a flyweight even if the flyweight is 10x more skilled. Same with basketball, being super tall can give an unfair advantage.
The solutions
1. Seperate rankings/GOAT lists for seperate height divisions
2. Take into account height when it comes to a players ranking, e.g. if they are over 7 foot, subtract a bit from their rankings, while those under 6 foot get more points to their rating
Thoughts?
