LeBron James is the greatest basketball player in history.
There are countless reasons and honestly I can go on for days and days writing up countless paragraphs, but i am a bit sleepy, and i want you guys to contribute to this thread too, so i will keep it short for now.
- 2016, LeBron James did the impossible and overcame a 3-1 deficit in the nba finals which has never been done before, defeating the 73-9 Golden State Warriors who have been compared to the Bulls in 96. LeBron single handedly broke the 52 year championship drought in Cleaveland.
-LeBron James needs 575 points to surpass Abdul-Jabbar's career total of 38,387.
-four NBA championships, four Finals MVPs, four NBA MVPs, 17 All-NBA selections, 17 All-Star selections, the 2003-04 Rookie of the Year award and three All-Star MVPs, too
Two Olympic Gold medals
Feel free to add the reasons why LeBron is the GOAT. I can think of at least 100 more things, but I want you guys to contribute too

OP is in sore need of education. But he's in luck since I'm here to educate Bronie fluffers.
Lebron, also known as LeShrivel for his propensity to choke, is the undisputed GOAT of turnovers.

He wasn't the first player to overcome a 3 - 1 lead & win a championship. GSW were no '96 Bulls and no one with any basketball knowledge would put that team on the same level. Kyrie played an equal part in the comeback and hit the greatest shot in Cavs history.
All-time scoring record is a great testament to his longevity but barely anyone had Kareem as the GOAT as the scoring leader, despite him being the GOAT College player + having 6 rings & 6 MVPs.
There's a pretty long list of players that have won more titles than him & he has a losing record in the Finals (22 - 33) and is a -86 in the Finals overall. Played in the WOAT Conference to get 9 of the 10 appearances and even the run he had out West was during lockdown with 0 fans and 3 out of 4 opponents were injured + AD carried him for the most part until Adebayo got injured in the Finals.
There's no overcoming MJ's dominance in the RS + Playoffs. Bran had plenty of shortcomings while MJ's happened before his prime. Hard to beat 6 rings & 0 Finals losses and Jordan was arguably the best player in the league from 86-98 while Bran was maybe the best player in the league 3 or 4 seasons in total.

Is MJ losing with Kyrie and Kevin Love?
Nope. '93 Suns were just as great if you're going to compare the talent on those teams.
But that team didn't win 70 games in the rs, so... They're not perceived as invincible as the 2016 western champs were bt.
Is MJ losing with Kyrie and Kevin Love?
Depends if he entirely hogs the ball or not.

A lot of the things you listed have nothing to do with basketball or LeBron's greatness.
Also, the same thing can be done to literally any player, if you put them under a microscope and judge them harshly, you can make anyone look bad.

i guess you're right :(
kobe:
1997 - missed late threes vs utah as an 18 year old rookie cause he was the only one brave enough to shoot
1998 - didn't win allstar mvp because he was benched
1999 - couldn't beat sanantonio because shaq wet the bed and played worse than kobe
2000 - couldn't save every game for shaq. just game 7 vs portland and game 4 vs indiana
2001 - couldn't win finals mvp after averaging 29/7/6 in the post season
2002 - ditto after carrying shaq past duncan again
2003 - couldn't beat the spurs after dropping 36/7/6 that night cause horry bricks his 20th of 20 three point attempts for the series
2004 - couldn't beat the greatest defensive team ever after all laker players shot below 40% except shaq who larry brown let get his admittedly
2005 - couldn't make the playoffs after he and odom missed 20 games each
2006 - couldn't beat the suns with kwame/smush/cook/walton while dropping 50 vs suns in a game 6 loss
2007 - ditto
2008 - couldn't beat a colluded big 3 with an organic team that had injurys to bynum and ariza
2009 - could only beat the lame magic team that beat lebron into the ground
2010 - shot poorly like everyone else in game 7 during a defensive war. having a hand in nearly every bucket, rebound in the last 15 minutes
2011 - couldn't beat the mavs with a major knee injury making him play 30mpg all year
2012 - couldn't beat the thunder cause pau gasol choked his free throws
2013 - couldn't beat the spurs because he was on the sideline with an achilles rupture
2014 - couldn't make the playoffs because he missed the entire year with a broken leg and tanking orders
2015 - couldn't play most of the year with shoulder surgery and tanking orders
2016 - forced to take it easy to last out his retirement tour on a broken down body
these are so shameful i tell ya

The worst part for Lebron's 2021-'22 season is had 5 teammates including himself that are a lock to make the Hall of Fame and they missed the playoffs.
And, when the NBA does it's 100th Anniversary team Dwight Howard will be on that team, which means the 2021-'22 Lakers will have had 5 Hall of Fame players, all on the NBA's 100th Anniversary team and they didn't make the playoffs. Couldn't get to the 10th seed.
With the NBA switching to a play-in format there has never been a time in league history where it was easier to make the playoffs and a Lebron led team couldn't even do that. Add in that they won't make the play-in in 2023 he's going back-to-back in missing the play-ins. It shall forever be known as the "The Lebron Repeat."
That is almost as big a failure for Lebron as 2011.

LeBron James - 28.4 ppg on 48.4 FG%, 10.2 rpg, 7.5 apg, 1.7 spg, 0.9 bpg
Kobe Bryant - 25.3 ppg on 41.2 FG%, 5.7 rpg, 5.1 apg, 1.8 spg, 0.9 bpg

real finals was out west
while kobe was beating the blazers/kings/spurs every year to make the finals lebron was beating the wizards, bobcats and raptors
lebron only had to face 1 good team each year. kobe had to face 4
hence:
50+ win teams eliminated

I can think of at least 100 more things, but I want you guys to contribute too
Winning multiple MVPs and titles with different teams, coaches, and players.

ring chasing, colluding and quitting on franchises isn't something to brag about
its much easier to hand pick situations every 4 years than to go through a rebuild organically

This should be penned!
I'll add some more:
2008: Playoffs vs. Celtics, goes 2/18 with 10 turnovers
2010: Quit on his team in the last 3 games to the point the Cavs owner and most casual NBA fans said "He quit"
2014: An Air conditioner beat him
2020: During the riots, stated "Cops are out here hunting down black men" Also 2020: The Clippers and Lakers agreed to not continue the playoffs and go "protest" until they were told they wouldn't receive bonuses. By that point almost all the players wanted to leave the bubble.
2019-2021: During his "look at me, I read" it's discovered he's never made it past the first page on any book.
Fact is, he's big and strong and can't shoot a lick outside of 5 feet, can't dribble, no footwork, constantly offensively fouls and habitually travels on almost every play.
This is your "GOAT?"

Take away the second best player on pretty much any championship team, and they don't win.
Except of course for Jordan, who game 6 of the 1998 Finals barely had Pippen that game (10 pts) and yet Mike dropped 45 pts, game winning steal and shot. Pippen missed about 1/2 that season.
So, there's that.

He's not a bald degenerate gambling sneaker hawking Space Jam making 55 wins without him played in the weak ass 90's sociopathic ball hogging piece of shit.
Also, he's not 1-9.
I wonder what starface, Akrazotile, Fourth Tenor and PANTHALASSA would think about this.

Nobody put the fear of god in players like prime LeBron did
Nobody completely dominated an entire conference for well over a decade like LeBron did from 07-2018
Nobody compares LeBron to total amount of statistical accomplishments ect
He's easily the GOAT, I'm sorry but both MJ and Kareem are a tier below LeBron at this point
