View Full Version : Timberwolves cannot stop losing with Gobert. Fall to Pistons at home. Gobert -6

After winning 3 straight games without Gobert, they have lost 6 straight games with him after he was inserted back into the lineup. Gobert was once more a net negative -6.
The only net negative starter.
Should they bench him full time?

Bro. The Timberwolves won 3 straight games without him and went +36 in those 3.
Then Gobert came back, they lost 6 straight, 5 straight with him and went -51 with him in those 5 on the floor (net negative all 5).
It‘s pretty hard to be that bad.
Those incompetent teammates of his all do just fine with him off the floor.
Marvin Bagley went off on him

An absolutely inexcusable performance from the Wolves. Up and down the roster, coaching staff, everyone.
Out-worked by a tanking team on your home floor.

The Wolves didn't want to wait to get better. That's why they traded picks for an established player in the first place. They didn't want a project. They wanted to form a contender.
The problem is that he admittedly showed alot of impact on the Jazz, but that doesn't mean anything for other teams. What is his impact worth when the team he's on has to play a tall line up in a small ball league?

A tall lineup with two of the best bigs. Again Jazz won with a big lineup. They won with worse talent. Whatever the excuses are the players and coach need to figure it out. Too much talent not to

You can’t convince him of anything no matter how obvious. Timberwolves fans are legitimately blaming Gobert for the team’s struggles, you can see this on Reddit, but he will say it’s “trolling”.

McGee knew how to play his role and helped lead teams to championships, Rudy’s style of play and personality were always selfish. Spread COVID to teammates, got the league shut down, three guys under the bus, cried for all star nominations, and took a massive contract he didn’t deserve half of ensuring any roster wherein he’s a player will never compete for a championship

Timberwolves bench Gobert for a long time and finally win a game because of it.
It doesnt get any worse for Gobert.
They buit a 10 point lead with him on the bench in the 4th, put him back in and the game was quicky back to 2 but the offense bailed them out.
Wow, 2D's impact really being exposed rh.

Nah he isn't. It was obvious for everyone - except Xiao - who he is. As a player and mentally. The guy complained about touches on the Jazz, while his offensive ability consists of setting screens and doing 1 footers after rolls.
Judging by the picks the Wolves gave away they thought they'd be the twin towers Spurs or Rockets after netting Rudy, but they're more of a LJ/Zo Hornets with their Zo being offensively inept.
The Wolves should've known what it means to have to play some dude with delusions of grandeur right next to KAT and Edwards. Definately their fault.

Wednesday 2/8, Jazz vs. Wolves: Gobert’s second visit to Salt Lake since a July trade comes with Minnesota surging a bit, at 13-6 in the calendar year. Gobert’s net rating is an impressive +7.8 over that stretch (he did miss four of those games), and Anthony Edwards has been putting up 26-6-5. Karl-Anthony Towns still hasn’t played since being carried off the floor in late November, and the Wolves will hit Utah on a back-to-back, coming from Denver. This will be the final Jazz-Wolves matchup of the season. It currently stands 2-1 Utah with each team weirdly winning its road encounters.
