I don't disagree that Democrats are crazy, but change needs to happen within the Republican party as well and this was an opportunity for members of that party who actually wants to serve their constituents to make a difference.

As Gaetz put it in the interview I posted, members give their vote card to the lobbyists and their calendar to the leadership. From there they are presented with money making opportunities.
