I think all the stars are playing in all games. Leonard was just listed as available.
Luka vs the Celtics is probably the real matchup though.

The Celtics need to get back to their defensive identity. The game vs the Thunder was easily the worst defense the current core had ever played.

nuggets matchup well with the clipper so I'm pretty interested. I still believe in Clippers as a contender

Mavs on a 7-game win streak, could hand Boston their 3rd straight loss.

No one cares because all the teams play the exact same way just open space swing the ball and look for a three.
Old man hate aside the Celtics's unnatural hot start is over. I think their 3pt percentage plummeted to around 20% or so the last month give or take from the all around 40% to start the season. They are a mixed bag because they don't know if they should hang their hat on their offense or their defense and it affects their line-ups (whether to play RWIII or not and Al Horford being a step slow and regressing in shooting to space the floor along with Derrick White).
Mavs are rolling and it's not just Luka even though he's had some great performances (for an inflated era). Kidd has struck gold starting Christian Wood at center and finally playing him the minutes that he deserves and benching Reggie Bullock. Now the Mavs are a true 5-out team with maximum spacing and shooters around Luka. It also gives Tim Hardaway Jr and Spencer Dinwiddle more room to handle the ball as well (though Luka still doesn't do much off-ball).
Clippers are still the Clippers. Playing well when they're whole and not so much when they're not. Some games they look like the runaway NBA Champions and other games Kawhi and Paul George both look like shells of themselves. Always a coin toss to see which team that you're gonna get from what I've seen but they show up to big games.
Nuggets look good when they are whole and I love KCP starting for them to bring some semblance of perimeter defense to the forefront. Bruce Brown has been key for them as well whether he's a starter or coming off the bench though the Nuggets need to step up their defense since they're almost dead last in FG% so teams are just having a field day against them.
Not looking forward to any game but I do want to see Boston lose

Yeah I dont quite understand why the Clippers dont look demanding yet.
They look fine but theyre actually even somewhat overachieved so far, winning most close games.

Under. He dominates the ball so hard that he can get almost any stat he wants to but the Celtics have the personnel to defend him beget than any other team.

It's a bit wild. Tatum gets 29 14 and 10 and I'm thinking about how he had a big game when it occurs to me that he probably had less fantasy points than an average game for Doncic. I want to see Doncic playing for a season with a superstar not because I want him to win but more because I want to see if his style can work with another great offensive player. Even if the Oden n base was efficient by are there stats that soul isn't like how much he Doom Monday's the ball and/or how would he keep the teammate involved, is it in his nature to server or participate in ball movement? Could he play for 15 minutes like Rip Hamilton? Would anyone want him to?

You can have great performances regardless of what era it is. Ignore numbers if that makes it easier.
Unless you just think that guys now are less talented and worse at basketball. In which case you may want to just call it a day.

The most annoying thing about modern ball with the three is that players will start firing them from 25 feet out and it is like the defence doesn't matter. The defenders could be great or terrible either way the shot being taken isn't affected it will be made or missed solely based on the shooters skill and luck. I can see how a fan of old school ball gets sick of that. I would certainly like it less if I wasn't a Celtics fan but but fortunately I am a Celtics fan and the Cs are normally good at creating reasonable 23 ft threes and hitting them at a respectable clip. Throw in some good defense and things go well.

Will teams do the exact same thing come playoffs? Makes me wonder.

So long as they don't get figured out yes but if they encounter a team that understands what they're doing and has the personnel to stop it then they're in trouble. The thing is that generic statement can be applied to any team that plays any style. Last season not shooting as well they got to the Finals. They have far more incentive to play this way than to try something else. They just need to make sure that the threes they take are created off of attacking the paint and ball movement. Part of why Tatum and Brown shoot worse from three than some of their teammates is that they are often doing it off of their own dribble whereas Grant Williams or Sam Hauser is taking an open three that someone else set them up for.

Yea, i think many of those problems would have been mostly addressed if they had a true playmaker bt. Especially one that can impact the game offensively.

If they could get Chris Paul cheap it might be cool but the Celtics have a fine point guard rotation. They really just need the defense to be right which means getting Robert Williams minutes up while keeping him healthy.
