Always tricky when you're part of an institution and you publicly deviate from their stance on anything. They're entitled to discipline you if you want to remain a member. Some opinions can be legally protected but a lot of them can fall into a grey area. Curious to hear how you think something like this should be handled. There's many different ways to approach this.

They want to send him to a re-education camp, plain and simple, figuratively speaking

I know this is Canada and Canada is full of idiots, but the scarier part is how people let this happen.

Conservative used to do this to free thinking liberals decades ago. Now the shoe is on the other foot. "Liberals" want to stomp you in the mud if you stray from the narrative they want being put out.
It's a documented fact the left is much more intolerant of the right, than the right is of the left. Hopefully we find a happy medium one day soon, or things in western world will unravel quickly much to the delight of East Asia

Agreed. But how can this be regulated? An institution can demand whatever(almost) of it's members as it stands now.

When an "institution" has some government appointed members who would punish someone simply for criticizing the leader of their party, and it's the only example of member being reeducated for criticizing a government official, then maybe it's time to remove almost all government influence over said institution. This governing body has disciplined psychologists for publicly criticizing other members of this group before but never before for criticizing the government, especially the Prime Minister, who should be criticized every day in a healthy free thinking society

It makes sense if they have govt appointed members but if they were a completely private entity would this request be OK In that case? I don't think so but it would be hard to prevent. Maybe there should be blanket immunity for criticizing political leaders?

You can support institutions that protect employee’s individualism.
I foresaw this issue and literally created a consumer goods business based on that exact idea.
But when I went and tried to pitch it to people most just gave me blank stares or dismissive jokes.
Just the nature of the beast. Everyone has complaints. Nobody wants to help with the solutions.
