I’m sure we all want a lot of things though.

“What you are seeing with Collins now is that the Hawks want him to be treated like an All-Star, they want a big-time return for Collins — not quite like the Rudy Gobert or Donovan Mitchell trades, but something in that neighborhood,” the executive told (https://heavy.com/sports/brooklyn-nets/john-collins-nets-asking-price/)Heavy Sports. “And everyone else looks at him like he’s a guy who is owed $100 million over the next four years and is having the worst year of his career. The [Brooklyn] Nets can build a package around Joe Harris to make the money match, and add in Royce O’Neale and Cam Thomas.”

Theres so much parity right now it's hard to come up with trades that make sense for both teams. Usually trades happen between contenders and rebuilders who are clearly going in different directions.

When teams are even the moves are more likely to amount to lateral moves for each team and it's not really worth the risk/uncertainty a trade creates.

That said I could see maybe... Chicago being a good fit?

Build a package around Vooch's expirer I guess.

The Gobert trade had everyone trying to steal the moon. Ainge ruined nba trades for at least one season.

I think Atlanta gets close to the return they want here. It only takes one team to believe that Collins is going to be a star in a bigger role.

...or they end up stuck with Ben Simmons.

Everyone else in the league: "If he's that good, why have you been trying to sell him for three years?"

Do you like John Collins? I've been a big Genesis fan ever since the release of their 1980 album, Duke. Before that, I really didn't understand any of their work.

I guess they have no choice but to try to flex, but it's just funny they're trying to maintain this position of strength in negotiations when he's having by FAR the worst season of his career :lol

Collins is like a Marcus smart you overshopped him and tanked his value
