Busted? No, Biden lawyers found them, and they were the ones who contacted the achieve office & informed the DOJ. They promptly returned all of the documents. DOJ assigned an investigator (Trump-appointed investigator btw so no accusations of being pattisan) to look further into it.

This is why I will never respect Democrats. They commit the crimes they accuse others of and then brag in your face about it. Then, when caught, they bend the rules or change the definition of things so that they can escape justice. And since they are protected by the mainstream media, they know that no one will press them on it and they will escape any kind of punishment or bad publicity.
But if a Republican were to do something illegal or unethical......holy shit that Republican must be hung, drawn, and quartered on live television for the world to see.

So are you saying Trump didn't take classified documents, didn't lie, his lawyers didn't lie, and they didn't covertly move the boxes with classified documents after receiving subpoena?
Biden didn't get caught. His assistants were cleaning his office and found them, reported it, and returned them next day. What rule was bent? This situation is so much more absurd and disgusting than simple double standards.
All of the supposedly classified documents that Trump had at Mar a Lago were there legally - when Trump was president he said all of the documents at mar a lago were declassified, and the president can declassify any document by simply saying that he would like it to be declassified. The illegal FBI raid on Trumps home was ~5 months ago... if Trump actually broke any laws, when exactly is he going to be charged with a crime?
Joe Biden was only vice president when he took these documents and left them at his "think tank", and the vice president does not have any declassification powers. Unlike Trump, Joe Biden actually violated the law when he left these documents at his think tank... but we all know the FBI wont be raiding his house any time soon.

Ultimately it shouldnt really matter who had access... from a legal perspective at least.
The bottom line is that when Biden was VP (a position that does not have the ability to declassify docs), he stored classified documents at a NGO and in his garage... yet his FBI raided Trumps house over the fact that Trump was storing about a dozen documents that he declassified in the safe inside his home office.

Declassification has to be in writing from when he was president. Otherwise, nothing is stopping someone like Trump from lying about declassifying when caught outside of office even if he didn't declassify in the first place.

Wrong
The president has complete authority to declassify anything he wants, and there is no specific process required to do this.
Anyway, lets pretend for a second that Trump did violate the law when he stored classified documents in his home office... if this is the case, then that means Joe Biden is guilty of flagrantly violating this law when as VP he decided to store classified documents at his so-called "think tank" and inside his garage?

It has to be in writing and recorded. There was no record of it.
I would say that Biden has no obstruction of justice aspect here. He didn't try to lie about it or refuse to comply with subpoenas. His aides found it, reported it themselves and returned it. Trump was refusing to return and went through steps to hide the documents, including moving the boxes after being served with a subpoena.

This clown just keeps changing the bar. When trump had documents, we told him he can declassify it. At the time, he said, as long as he is in possession of it, he is guilty. Now biden is in possession of it, but he's not guilty because he did not hide from subpoenas.

President can declassify any document he wants, but there has to be a record of that declassification having taken place. No president is above the law to "think up a declassification" with no record of it anywhere. The relevant agency has to be told the document is no longer classified. That's normal practice.
Ask why there's no record of declassification of only the documents Trump took with him and why he waited only until after the raid a year and half later to say "I declassified all those documents"? Why don't those agencies have any knowledge of declassification having taken place? Why weren't Trump lawyers willing to testify under oath that Trump declassified those documents? Oh right, there is no record of it anywhere except in Trump's head and only a year and half after being out of office & after getting caught with hundreds of documents in raid.

That is actually false btw. VPs have had the power to declassify.
Under a 2009 Obama-era executive order titled "Classified National Security Information" the vice president does have the power to declassify documents while they're in office. The order states: "The authority to classify information originally may be exercised only by: (1) the President and the Vice President [...]," as well as "agency heads and officials designated by the President."
https://www.snopes.com/fact-check/biden-documents/
There still needs to be a record of it in archives and for the relevant agency to be informed. So what Biden did was not legal - he just didn't try to hide the documents, obstruct justice or refuse to comply with subpoena.
Another interesting snippet:
Trump was correct that presidents have the power to declassify documents. But experts pointed out to Politifact in 2022 that merely declaring a document declassified, or thinking that it is, does not make it so; federal law governing government documents requires presidents to follow certain steps to officially turn a classified file into a declassified one, which include physically modifying its markings.
Commenting on the documents uncovered at Trump's Mar-a-Lago property, a three-judge appellate panel of the Court of Appeals for the 11th Circuit noted in 2022 there was "no evidence that any of these records were declassified." And even if Trump had declassified the documents using the federally-mandated steps to do so, he was still bound by federal law that requires presidents to return all government documents — classified or unclassified — to the National Archives and Records Administration (NARA) when they leave office. Declassifying a document would not "render it personal," the court stated.
Here's the politifact article it cites: https://www.politifact.com/article/2022/sep/23/could-donald-trump-declassify-documents-with/
I know, I know, the courts are also involved in a vast conspiracy with those damn libtards!!!!!

Hilarious that there are still people who mindlessly lap up and regurgitate "fact checks" from laughable propaganda mills like snopes in the year 2023. :oldlol:
Snopes says that "However, the claim that federal law does not give vice presidents the power to declassify government documents, and reserves that authority for presidents, is false"... Which is categorically incorrect.
First of all, executive orders are not laws, legally speaking they are "directives, proclamations, or administrative orders". As usual, snopes is 100% incorrect - There is nothing in federal law that gives vice presidents the power to declassify documents.
Also, they didnt find declassified documents in Bidens office and garage, they found classified documents... meaning that even if Biden had the ability to declassify them at one point, he never actually did declassify them. So best case scenario for Biden he is just as guilty as Trump was when he sent his storm troopers to raid his house.
There still needs to be a record of it in archives and for the relevant agency to be informed. So what Biden did was not legal - he just didn't try to hide the documents, obstruct justice or refuse to comply with subpoena.

Once again, I dare you to cite the specific law that lays out the process a president must go through to "legally" declassify something.
Both of the so-called "fact check" (lol) articles you posted here cite a bunch of so-called "experts" (lol) who claim that the specific process for declassification is spelled out in federal law... and yet none of these so-called experts, none of the the "fact checking" sites, and none of the idiots like you who regurgitate the "fact checks", are able to actually name/cite the law in question.

First, executive order stands unless if replaced by a later law from Congress (or by a new executive order by a future president). That executive order 13526 has been in effect since 2009, and it was never overridden by Congress or a future executive order. Therefore, executive order 13526 acts as federal law.
Second, Biden never claimed to have declassified the documents so that point doesn't even apply in this case. Trump made the claim he declassified the documents, which there is no evidence of, but that only became a point for him because of buffoons like you taking him at his word that he could declassify just by saying so & leave zero record of it anywhere.
Finally, I dare you to cite the law that allows a president to simply declassify hundreds of documents verbally and not have to leave a record anywhere of the declassification order. Why is there no record anywhere and why was the relevant agency not informed? Why did he wait a year and half to suddenly start claiming he had already declassified all those documents when in office? Why weren't his lawyers willing to testify under oath to that?

If Biden had been trying to hide the documents, lying about having documents, refuting subpoena, and refusing to turn them over for over a year, then the FBI would have raided.
Biden's lawyers turned them over right away (nobody had to ask), didn't lie about the documents, never had to come to a subpoena, and is willing to fully comply with whatever DOJ decides.
