Kareem, Moses Malone, and Robert Parish overlapped with some great players I think.

And the best argument against "bigger, faster, stronger".

People are people and honestly I think the pool for athletics is smaller today.

Of course we have more people overall in the world, but will anyone claim that boxing is better than 50 years ago? No way.

More people go into academics today and cushy office jobs, less people hang around on the court.

With all these former player kids in the NBA, what it looks like is more that nepotism is on the rise. Pay for expensive personal training.

These player kids like Steph, he essentially a rich kid right? Seems humble tho, but some of the fire of the 80s generation is missing. That's in all sports. Back in the 80s, many if not most players had a blue collar background. In soccer many players from the 80s and 90s had actual blue collar educations. There's a difference in what blue collar values on the floor vs academic white collar. Blue collar is about fighting and putting it all out there. Academics white collar is about efficiency and style.

As did Mailman. He was a 22/9 all-star at 38 in 2002, when the league was fully in the Shaq/Duncan/Garnett/Kobe/Iverson/Tmac/Vince era by then. His first all-star game in 88 was Kareem's 2nd last.
