From a new SI article about the post-up (https://www.si.com/nba/2023/01/18/nba-lost-art-of-post-play-daily-cover). It's a great read.
He talks about the defenders who gave him trouble. Not Anthony Mason. (“Too small.”) Not Mark Eaton. (“Tough, but you could face him up.”) No, the really challenging ones were heavy and mechanical. Like . . . Greg Kite.
“Greg Kite?” Poser asks. “I didn’t expect his name to come up today.”
Olajuwon nods. “And Frank Brickowski.”

Hakeem really has everyone fooled. The dude is such a scumbag and is clearly saying this in the same vein as when Shaq says Derrick Coleman is the only dude to dunk on him. It screams 'I think I dominated everyone but can't say it so I'll act like a mediocre player got me'.
Hakeem spent over half a decade straight in his peak years (24-30) losing in round 1 or missing the playoffs, losing to teams led by Dale Ellis or Rolando Blackman.
Gambling addict, coach killer, sucker puncher, black hole on offence, colluded to create the first modern superteam.

Lol. I thought Hakeem was the only all time great player with no haters on here. I guess I was wrong.

Hakeem might have a point. Greg Kite had one season as a full time starter and Hakeem did quite poorly against him.

Indeed, he's the only elite player who we chose to flat out ignore his large number of failures because his limited success was so great. The same guys who claim he carried trash in 94/95 are the same ones who say he had trash before that, so why couldn't he carry before?

He did though.

Nowitness is a bit over the top but some of his criticism is valid. At times Hakeem was a black hole who didn't play well with others. He did have several first round exits. His effort level came and went. He didn't bring it every night and frequently just settled for jumpers.
The "modern superteam" comment is dubious because all 3 stars were well past their prime at the time.

Sorry, which coach did he kill?
