That amusingly captioned video the NBA put on TikTok inspires me to ask a question. Who would you say is the most likely player to put in a good defensive effort yet still be scored on? Meaning guys who are willing to apply the effort but are still ineffective. I’d call players like that more respectable than the guys with the talent who don’t try.

An example to me would be Steve Nash. Steve Nash would try to play defense he just lacked the physical gifts as he aged. But he wasn’t just out there not giving a shit. I can respect that.

Who comes to mind as possibly leading the league in ineffective defensive murmurs of effort? Guys who try but just don’t have it?

Morant's like 6'1 or something. He'll still get scored on even he puts in good effort. Same with Steph Curry.

I suppose a lot of the guys who know they’re being targeted get annoyed and give it their all…but teams still do it. This is the age of being picked on. I remember the warriors finding whoever Nash was guarding one game and having them just murder him. This was Baron Davis, Stephen Jackson, and those warriors. It was kinda ugly for like half a quarter. I felt bad for him which rarely happens.
