Potential Starting 5:

1-SGA
2-Jamal Murray
3-Andrew Wiggins
4-RJ Barrett
5-Kelly Olynyk

Bench:
Dillon Brooks
Lu Dort
Ben Mathurin
Khem Birch
Chris Boucher
Brandon Clarke
Trey Lyles

fight for roster spot(s):
Dwight Powell
Nickeil Alexander-Walker
Shaedon Sharpe
Oshae Brissett
Andrew Nembhard

Real nice mixes of athleticism, shooting and defense to throw out there, a little small (may need to add Powell), but with the maturation of Wiggins, and the emergence of SGA and Jamal Murray's score anywhere potential this team could be a threat.
RJ Barrett, and Jamal Murray have excelled in past FIBA appearances.

It’s better for this site if I just delete this comment.

The key word is"compete." They wouldn't be the favorites but some of those guys have the potential to drop 50 so they are definitely dangerous. If they play great, Durant takes the summer off and Tatum has a bad game team USA loses.

Tatum is a bench player on the A team….it’s like you slipped that in just to see if anyone would notice or would everyone just let it slide :oldlol: never in life will Tatum be “the guy” on team usa :oldlol: and if he is we loss already….That team is not sniffing a gold medal

And everyone here knows it…

For him to be the guy the team would have to be something like

Ja
mitchell
Brown
Tatum
Jaren Jackson

That team wouldn’t even medal!

Oh my….oh me oh my… it just sunk in that after curry, kawhi, Lebron and the rest retire we are fk’d….wow… If Zion doesn’t make a jump we are fkd internationally

You are probably having a hard time dealing with the Celtics' success aren't you? I would tell you things will get better but, well, they won't. Two years ago Tatum was a key player for team USA. If Durant decides he needs to rest there is no logical reason not to start and feature Tatum. Tatum would be taking a starting role likely even if Durant does play but if he doesn't? Make it make sense. First team AllNBA, third in the league in scoring and one of the best defensive and rebounding wings in the game on top of everything else. Only reason not to start him is if they have Durant and feel strongly they need scoring off the bench. Otherwise your position makes no sense to the sane.

No! Never!

Team usa will be

Haliburton
Booker
Anthony Edwards
Zion
Jaren Jackson

With lamelo as the 6 man and Tatum brown rounding out the bench as the 7th and 8th man for when ant man and Zion gets tired. I want to win! We want to win!

Edit - hopefully, embiid gets citizenship and we won’t have to worry about any of this smh.

There is no amount of explanation points you can use that will make a starting line up of:

Haliburton
Booker
Anthony Edwards
Zion
Jaren Jackson

Make any sense. At this point you sound like a child throwing a tantrum.

That is a great international squad. I'd start Brandon Clarke over RJ though, bring RJ off the bench as the 6th man when SGA sits. Clarke is a really good defensive roleplayer and moves well off-ball on offense.

canada would have 12 nba players which i think is unheard of other than the u.s.

hard to say what The A Team is but this is a team

davis/jackson
durant/tatum
leonard/butler
harden/holiday
curry/caruso

throw in lebron for insurance

12th man you can put a bunch of names in a hat and pull one out

would be interesting

This is at best a play in team this season.

That team would be the best team in the league by far assuming no major chemistry problem.

Zion Williamson could be a force but there's a good chance he won't play because he has done injury he is recovering from our the Pelicans just don't want him to risk it which is understandable with his injury history. Jaren Jackson is a smallball center and barely bigger than Tatum. Anthony Edwards is a smaller 2 and he is putting him at the three when the team is already small at center and although Williamson is stronger than everyone he is a short 4. The defense would absolutely suck.

Jaren Jackson Jr has 2 inches and 32 pounds on Tatum and is arguably the best defender in the league. Fair points on the other players tho

Tatum's listed measurable have not been updated from his rookie year. He has grown taller and added muscle. Came in as a 2/3 and is now a 3/4. Most likely 6'10 and 235.

Historically this is accurate.

Canada’s national sports governing bodies or whatever you want to call them are backwards and sorely incompetent.

Basketball is now lead by Nick Nurse (huge upgrade) and he has taken a pledge from several NBA guys on a multi-year commitment.

There is going to be serious talent coming out of the north in basketball (as well as soccer) so this ghetto welfare-state socialist approach to sport (and not in the cool USSR roids for everyone way) needs to be reformed.

Hopefully it will.

By ‘compete’ I mean a medal.

USA obviously the favorites. Only a united Slav republic could take them down but that culture is partitioned into many states.

USA
then…
Canada, France
then…
Several European teams with a true number one (Slovenia, Serbia, Greece etc.) and a bunch of role players who have been playing with them since elementary school who punch way above their weight and understand the nuances of FIBA.
then…
Bloody Oz
****in hell, even Cameroon with Joel and Pascal could wreak havoc.

Any of the above could be top 3

In my most humble of opinion.

Is anyone in South America ballin out?
