Why didn't Tim Duncan play for Team USA in the 2008 Olympics??

Since he lost with Lebron in 2004 and Lebron lost in 2006 again he thought he would lose in 2008 but didn't realize Kobe would be on the team.

Refused to ever play under FIBA rules again, and probably vowed to never play for Team USA period after he was the only top 15 player in the league who didn't back out because they were scared of 'terrorism', and for his efforts was criticized.

Meanwhile Kobe (rape), KG (gassed after getting out of round 1 for the first time in 9 years), Shaq (obese), Jason Kidd (DV case), McGrady (no heart), and a slew of others got a free pass for failing to represent the land of the free and home of the brave, with Kobe only accepting the invite when guys like LBJ/Melo/Dwight were good enough to win, he didn't want the pressure as lone wolf as Duncan had in 04 babysitting a bunch of rookies and AI/Marbury, guys known as team killers.

Larry Brown probably didn't help either demanding they win the 'right way', Coach K allowed freak athletes like James to dominate (hence why as per her averaged more of everything than Kobe).

He was really upset with how 04 went down. Can't blame him either. Larry Brown was trying to get guys to play a certain way rather than using what strengths the team had. He refused to go to some of the younger players. For sure could have used Lebron more. Plus just certain players deciding not to play. It was a mess of an Olympics though and that left a bad taste in his mouth.

Duncan was 13/9/2/2 on 58% shooting with elite defense, AI was 14/2/2/2 on 37% shooting with ass defense.

Duncan made to babysit a bunch of rookies and dudes who would rather be skipping practice and at the club in Athens.

For reference, AI himself said Duncan was the best player he ever played with, and the only one who took it seriously in 04.
