It's crazy how Chuck Taylors have never gone out of fashion. I remember in middle school me and my friends all bought some chuck taylors and would always wear them to school. We were known as the "chuck crew". Very corny, I know, but back then we thought we were the shit.

my girlfriend got me some black and red Donovan Mitchell’s a few months ago after I got her some red bottoms. I did not ask but she insisted. I’d not worn new basketball shoes in so long i forgot how much they need breaking in. Had my ass driving barefoot from the pain.

they look good, but have not touched my feet since.

The only two sneakers I wanted in years are some Kobe’s that went up to like $700 after he passed and some multicolored Jordans I found out are Jordan 36s which I didn’t even know were still going on. I’d accept some white and gold 12s I suppose too.

and now that I think about it, I did like a pair of the Christian Louboutin sneakers when I was shopping for her red bottoms, but I just can’t talk myself into it. I’m not paying $800 for sneakers. I think the dinner that night was probably $700 and long-term shoes are more useful but it’s the principle.

I blame it on spending so much of the last few years in Miami. With all the silk shirts I’ve absorbed into my rotation I’m starting to look like Razor Ramon. People seem to enjoy them though. I had to give one to my cousins dad in a moment of old guy/older guy homage. He asked for it and I couldn’t say no. I’m sure he’s already had a cookout in it by now.

I don’t think that would be an issue I just doubt I’d find many occasions to wear them. I barely put a sneaker on the last 10-15 years but I’d like the option of those.
