View Full Version : Refs forgot to call Traveling on LeBron James in the final play of regulation

Watch the replay of LeBron driving against the Celtics in slow mo at the end of regulation. Clearly 3 steps taken after ball was picked up. Should’ve been a turnover and ball given back to opponent. How is LeBron allowed to travel all the time in the NBA? That’s cheating the game.

To be fair though, if the refs called him for a travel every time he took three steps driving to the hoop, he'd only be averaging 15 ppg this year.

You know it was a missed call when Lebron's biggest haters aren't even trying to challenge it, and instead are looking for any different angle possible.

I honestly still think the b2b foul calls on AD towards the end of the game were even worse. Phantom foul on Tatum that was challenged and overturned, then an absolutely terrible loose ball foul when he was going for an offensive rebound on the very next possession.

I mentioned this in the game thread, but it's completely ridiculous that the refs literally can't even look at a play like this on the final possession of a game unless a team keeps it's one and only challenge. There should be an automatic review of all close plays in the final 30 seconds of a game, like the NFL has in the final 2 minutes. There's no other sport where they wouldn't be able to review the final play of the game. That's something the league should definitely address and change.

Which one was the ridiculously late call?

I'm also noticing a trend where these guys wait for a player to shoot and then blow their whistle. That's as bad as getting swayed by a crowd. Still, Lebron's miscall and the officiating down the stretch was probably the worst I've seen since Lakers/Kings 2002. One ref was like two feet away from the foul and chose to ignore it. :lol

Officials need to be appropriately taxed. Players are for egregious action; refs shouldn't be exempt.

No one is debating whether it was a foul or not. There was clear contact. But don’t act like this is the only call a ref has ever missed. What about every time Lebron gets away with offensive fouls? What about the fact he travelled on the play?

Lebron is the LAST guy that should be complaining about the refs. If it weren’t for them, his career would be shit.

And the way he melted down on the court was beyond embarrassing. Acted like it was the finals

It’s there on the video. All you no integrity LeBron retards will conveniently ignore the travel before the so called missed foul when nothing that happens after the travel should even be regarded.

Bron fans for you, no integrity and conveniently pretends they don’t need to follow the NBA rules and cry when things don’t go their way.

Lebron had a gather step, then two steps. So it's obviously not a travel. Not like any of these posters claiming travel care about the truth anyways.

He made 4 steps after the last dribble. Even with a bonus "gather" being given today's players, 3 extra steps make it a travel.

i will try last time, James picks up the ball in the middle of his first step.. and he is allowed two steps afterwards.. THATS NOT TRAVEL in FIBA OR NBA, and anyone who played at least some ball, knows it.

LeBron actually gets really exposed in fiba and the Olympics when the international refs actually call traveling. There’s a reason his numbers go drastically down when the game is actually called with integrity and according to the rule book.

It’s a sad day when NBA no longer cares about enforcing traveling. You see businesses always conscious about their integrity in the public. NBA has no integrity anymore ever since they stopped caring about calling the game properly. If it’s a travel call it a travel. If this was a normal business they’d get cancelled already
