It's so weird man. Again, for the low-IQ trolls of the site, the issue isn't about gay people. I have probably been around more gay people than most of you combined. They are my customers. They are my neighbors. Hell, I have gay relatives. Who cares. It doesn't matter if you're gay or not. You're not more or less important if you're gay.
The issue has always been about how they force the LGBTQ message on you. And show creators have said it blatantly when talking about their content when being interviewed. They are PURPOSELY including gay characters so that they can include everyone. And the reality is, you don't have to create or add gay characters to include everyone. Is a movie like Black Panther not enjoyable despite it being a movie depicting 99% of its characters as Black? Considering how homosexuals represent only 5% of the country's population, there is a strong likelihood that if you live in a town of 5,000 people, that you may never run into a gay person at all. But on TV....they're running rampant. They're at least 50% of the population. And not only are they 50% of the population, we have to dedicate screen time to show you how they're gay by showing them kissing and butt ****ing each other.

At first I was pretty disgusted but then it turned into a sort of hilarious and campy satire. Wtf was that shit about. The guy spinning the dinner plates and pouring the wine all faggy. It was so over the top. Completely absurd. And why did they have to dedicate literally an entire episode to it? Like what does it have to do with the plot line? It’s so forced and weird. A friend of mine told me the show was pretty good so I started watching it and I thought the first two episodes were pretty good. Then they hit you with this one out of nowhere. Weird shit lol. Still I have somewhat enjoyed the show even though it’s a genre that has been beat halfway to death. I’ll be willing to give them a mulligan with this one and at least we know they both die so we don’t have to be seeing anymore of them. But they are treading on thin ice at this point. But in the end…Why even have that episode? :lol

I swear to God the United States of America has become the softest and gayest nation on Earth. We are ready for a takeover, China. Any day now. It's turning out to be a good series so far. I personally prefer Bill's 'gay reveal' from the game much more. Understated and implied not shoved in your face so much. Seems like the show wants to alter his direction a bit, but whatever. There was so much else that makes the series good. But if the 'gay stuff' bothers you that much I'll warn you there's one more big gay reveal if the show is following the game, so you may wanna just quit now. This one will probably be pretty in-your-face too since it was in the game, but warranted due to its importance to character development. Especially when you enter the second game.
As far as greatest episode in television history? I guess that's very subjective, but just off the top of my head:
Breaking bad: finale, Gus's death, hank's death were all better episodes. I'm sure there's more if I take a deeper dive
GoT: the red wedding, man building Rob up as a big player and just killing him off like he's nothing took balls. Hodor's 'hold the door' origination story episode. First season finale? I thought Ned was gonna be saved, you probably did too. When they just executed him like nothing was when I went "ok this show's kinda gangster".
Scrubs has some deep episodes that stand out to me. The one where Brendan Fraser dies, there was another one where Turk and JD stay and share a beer with a dying man on their night off that really resonated with me.
The iconic Fresh Prince episode where Will's dad leaves him. Not sure if that one Uncle Phil scene was enough to put it past Last of Us? Probably not, but something to consider.

Then there's the masterpiece that is Episode 4 of Season 1 of True Detective.I'm sorry about that. My parents were divorced, but my dad was always in our lives: left my mom the house and continued paying the mortgage, tried his best to make it to all my games, helped put me through school etc. so I can't even imagine how tough that must be. Stuff like this is what makes me believe people can have a lot in common, but can hold different views due to different circumstances. I.E if we both see the same criminal I might go "if I didn't have a strong role model, that might be me" vs you might go "I didn't grow up with a dad either, that's not an excuse". It doesn't invalidate either of our opinions, which are molded by our personal perspectives, but we may have varying levels of empathy for the guy.
Kudos for becoming a functioning member of society and business owner in spite of it all.

Honestly might not be a bad thing. The Chinese do not fvck around with woke shit. And you know damn well they'd have the urban crime/homelessness thing cleaned up in less than a year. Education system and infrastructure would also greatly improve. Not too fond of the whole state surveillance and suppression of speech thing, though it's not like we don't have that here in the U.S.

Sheeeeit, we were locked down pretty bad in some areas. But the idea of a China-like revamp in education, homelessness, and overall wokeness would be a good thing for this country, while still keeping the freedoms we enjoy today from our Constitution which many Americans take for granted. The problem with the United States is that an overwhelming majority of the population hates the country. And for no other reason than just to be different. There are far too many opinions, and opinions of psychopaths that go unchallenged. So the seeds are sown over and over again for disdain and for hatred.

Education system and infrastructure would also greatly improve. Not too fond of the whole state surveillance and suppression of speech thing, though it's not like we don't have that here in the U.S.I taught AP Econ there for 2 years and I’ll tell you right now you don’t know what you’re asking for. There is no middle class there, you’re either doing well or it’s shit, and in big cities the homelessness problem is every bit just as bad. Just to put it in perspective, my apartment was 4700 rmb/ mo(1 usd to 6.3 rmb at that time) and the security guards downstairs make 1800 rmb/ month. Going downstairs and getting grapes and a watermelon would cost me around 50 rmb. You really wonder how these people even live. And don’t worry, we’re headed towards that wealth disparity anyway, fast food and retail employees in California literally can’t afford the rent, and other states are quickly catching up. And security guards are everywhere, so don’t imagine my apartment complex as anything special. YouTube, google, etc were all blocked, had to get a vpn. This was like 10 years ago, too before Xi basically named himself as emperor for life, but overall the corruption is about the same. People rarely talk politics there for obvious reasons, but the day to day is pretty much just hyper capitalism.

You can really tell the movie industry is deeply rooted in progressive Los Angeles. Ever since 2015 it seems they even portray rural America or the Wild West, or just about any place all over the world that may be more conservative minded or perhaps simply not as ethnically diverse as if they are all as ethnically or sexually as diverse as the nightlife of downtown LA. Even historical pieces look like they bypass accuracy for inclusion now a days. Also jobs that men have typically always done and still do to this day like hand to hand combat based roles are shown in every single movie without exception to now be dominated by a randomly inserted 110-125lb female. Anyone else ever notice this? If you're not from LA or NYC in the U.S., or if you're from probably most anywhere else in the world, I'd imagine Hollywood movies' condensed diversity looks odd. I have absolutely no problem with diversity as I'm all for the best person for a job or role landing it and being given their due respect no matter their background but I have yet to see the real world look like how Hollywood shows it. I can only guess that's what LA is like (I haven't visited LA before). 1 in every 5 people I meet is also not LGBQT either but there must be plenty in Hollywood for how often I'm shown LGBQT characters in movies or shows.

Yeah I could have done without the gay couple storyline. Or if it wasn't forced. No offense but not believable that a survivalist would succumb to being homosexual. Since for a survivalist it's seen as a weakness. The survivalist character in itself I thought was cool.

but the characters on TV have been portrayed just as they were in the game. the praise it's received from the public has been precisely because they have adhered to the game story near perfectly. none of the gay/lesbo characters have been new or manufactured thus far.

All that tells me is that the gaming industry and Hollywood are becoming one in the same in their agenda, or LA culture bias, or whatever you’d like to call it. I read the setting is supposed to be post apocalyptic Texas? (Haven’t actually seen it). I don’t think 2 out of every 7 survival stories in post apocalyptic Texas would involve a gay couple but that’s just me. Not that I think there’s anything wrong with Gayness or even portraying it imo. It’s the statistics of it in the entertainment industry of the past few years that makes me feel the industries are definitely forcing it. I personally don’t even care I’m just mentioning it’s kind of impossible not to notice it and it makes me wonder why they feel the need to do it as often as they do

All that tells me is that the gaming industry and Hollywood are becoming one in the same in their agenda, or LA culture bias, or whatever you’d like to call it. I read the setting is supposed to be post apocalyptic Texas? (Haven’t actually seen it). just stop. you mentioned the lqbqueer stuff in the show as holloywoodism but it's not. the writer of the game decided to use these elements to make the characters unique. and from what i understand, the geographic location of the story is they're in boston....not texas.
if pedro pascal was made gay, then you'd have a leg to stand on

Let me ask you a question, are you okay with a Black Viking Woman warrior on the Netflix show Vikings: Valhalla??

Let me ask you a question, are you okay with a Black Viking Woman warrior on the Netflix show Vikings: Valhalla??It depends on what the show is going for. If it's historical accuracy, yes. There were no records of vikings plundering slaves from Africa. But for the sake of the show it's fine, they explain her background and viking society was a lot more equitable to women and slaves. Entertainment doesn't have to be realistic, just believable and consistent within the confines of the world and tone. Rules set by the creator. Did you have issues that the hobbits wore 19th century clothes in a medieval fantasy? Neither did I.

I understand that. But when show creators go out of their way to say that they want a certain series to reflect what society looks like today, they are putting race and color ahead of writing and content. That's what I have a problem with. I don't think the Vikings writers went so far as to admit that, but it was definitely out in the open for Amazon's The Rings of Power.
I think the quality of the content would be so much better if equity quotas weren't met and weren't broadcast ahead of time for everyone to know.

Of course "fair" refers to light skinned, but Tolkien in his context definitely meant goodlooking, and this guy was cast as Celebrimbor:
https://www.thedigitalfix.com/wp-content/sites/thedigitalfix/2022/10/rings-of-power-Celebrimbor-explained-2.jpg
I don't know if a black person can pass as "fair", but if it just means goodlooking light-skinned brother, I can't argue with their casting.
I'm just going based on looks though. The show's downfall was bad writing and none of these chodes can act. Galadriel was a disaster, and the fight scene she had with the trainees made her somehow even more unlikable. How do you root for her?

Her husband died in battle and she rules the village in his stead, which is historically accurate based on what we know. And the vikings sailed across the Atlantic and founded Greenland and Iceland, so it isn't farfetched to imagine them sailing to Africa.

I don't think I've expressed disgust for gay people on this board. Sure, I have joked about them, but I don't think I've expressed disgust. The only disgust I know I have expressed on here has been towards transgenderism because that is undoubtedly a mental disorder that is being disguised as normal behavior and is being protected by those that refuse to accept the science and biology that states and that we all know deep down inside is not normal human behavior.
However, let's assume I've expressed disgust for gay people on here. My response to your question would be: And? So? So what?
Why must there be an explanation for it? And why must there be an assumption on your part that it may lead to some arousal? Every single human being on this planet has prejudices and has things that they like and do not like and things that disgust them. There doesn't have to be a detailed explanation as to why. It just is. That's like calling someone out for being disgusted by cockroaches and telling them that they should just ignore them. Also, there is not one single person on this planet that likes everything and has a problem with nothing in this world. So, if I'm disgusted by or if I don't agree with gay people, well then, that's my prerogative. And then, I can ask you guys the same question that you are asking me: Why not just ignore it? Why not just ignore my opinion on gay people? Trans people? Etc.

But more importantly, I do not like how the LGBTQ agenda is being forced down our throats 24/7. And for those that don't think it is, then explain all the pride flags, and the celebrations, and the infusion of LGBTQ agendas in our schools. Our sexuality is our own business. There should never be a gay or trans teacher telling kids at a very young age that being gay or trans is okay. These children do not have the capacity to understand sexuality at a young age, so the only thing they are doing to these kids is grooming them. And yes, this will lead to more gay people who could have otherwise remained Straight if they had discovered their sexuality on their own. The statistics are out there. The explosion in people who identify as LGBTQ has tripled or quadrupled in the last few years. This isn't a natural progression as populations increase. This is by design. There aren't teachers in schools teaching heterosexuality to children right now, so anyone who defends these LGBTQ teachers is only being dishonest with themselves.

Tbf I'd find a thread that's called "Welp.....there are some cockroaches on Last of Us" just as weird. I won't deny that LGBTQ+ stuff is disproportionally used in shows these days and ofc there's some agenda behind that. Doesn't matter if someone agrees or disagrees with that agenda, it clearly is one.
But do you think by keeping the topic hot you don't further reassure them in their behaviour? Maybe not on ISH, but on the internet in general. People are so busy discussing these topics that clearly have little impact in most people's real life and I don't see how people who are anti whatever can be so invested in that very same topic if it doesn't affect them.

Just creating conversation that's all. I'll be honest, the internet and the anonymity that comes with it is about the only place nowadays I can express my opinions on these subjects. Outside of my inner circle of friends who are busy living their lives, nobody wants to have these conversations in public anymore. And unfortunately, a lot of people that were like-minded as me have left the board.
