Not surprising.

It’s important to continue provoking racial tension right now as the top 1% continue increasing their ownership over everything in the coming years.

They need people underneath them fighting each other, not fighting against them.

It will work. It always does.

The black people wont care that they have zero representation in the CEO class and the white people will cry and complain about the cultural double standards but still go and see the movie and financially support the very people who are doing what they complain about.

Everyone knows the formula, but it is as immutable as ever. Nothing will ever change :lol

Bro I think this is just a cash grab from a media company remaking a popular movie lol.

Racial tension isn't really the motive here and this remake won't stir any of it at all.

I dunno, theres a million movies they'd never remake today because of woke reasons. Anything with a negative stereotype in the title about other groups wouldnt have a prayer of getting made today.

They know this will get a ton of traction on message boards with people talking about "Imagine if there was a movie called Black Men Can't ____." Probably Tucker Carlson or whoever will do a segment on the double standards in Hollywood etc. I'm sure there will be plenty of online strife among message board users.

Dont get me wrong, the movie doesnt bother me. I'm always fine with comedy and free expression. But just the fact that wokeness is the center of everything these days, it's hard to imagine they didnt foresee controversy and conflict over a remake titled "White Men Cant Jump."

Maybe, but even if it was a factor in the decision I think it was a minor one.

They're capitalizing on an iconic movie and a young rap superstar with millions of fans. He happens to be pretty talented and a natural actor from what I can tell.

And I'm one of those guys that gets pissed about racial double standards but I don't care in the slightest about the name of this movie. So if they're going for racial controversy I don't really see the point
