If he bulks up as Giannis and AD did, watch out. Add 40-50 pounds over 4-6 years. His mobility and ball handling at that size are impressive.

Am I crazy to think he could be a 7'4" Giannis? I don't really care for the highlight reels of jump shots. I'm more impressed by his mobility, size, and dribbling. Even if the jump shot never develops, he could still be a dominant slasher from the perimeter like Giannis.

Here's a reminder of what Giannis looked like around the same age:

Victor is like 230 pounds right now. Add 40-50 pounds and it's game over.

can his body hold that much added weight? He's likely to have injuries issues at that size regardless

We'll see. I think people need to remember that Giannis' body was compared to Durant's. Victor can definitely put on size; can't see why he can't be at least 260+. Anthony Davis came into the league at 210 pounds and is now around 260. Giannis was sub-200 and is now 250+.

Yes. Giannis is amazing in the full court / fast break. I don't see that here. Victor's movement on the fast break with the ball isn't nearly as fluid and intense.

That's not to say he won't be better than Giannis. He very well may be and based on the little I've seen him play, he looks far better at the same age. Victor is a much better jump shooter from everywhere on the court. He's much craftier with the ball in the half court and has better post moves than Giannis.

Giannis is faster, stronger, and jumps higher. Giannis was very skinny at his age though.

We'll just have to see. Victor is tracking to be a better player, which is crazy to say, assuming the work ethic is there. Assuming the work ethic is on Giannis level is a large assumption to make and I have no idea.

I don't think it's a valid comparison overall. Victor is more coordinated. Giannis is more athletic.

Funnily enough, a better version of Anthony Davis is probably a more valid comparison than Giannis imo.

Yeah but keep in mind it’d be spread out over a wider center of gravity. So he still wouldnt be as sturdy overall.

Not saying it cant work just that his challenges may be unique.

I just hope he doesn't get carried away with the jump shooting. He's really not that great at it. 30% 3PT on 3.3 attempts over 71 games in Europe which has a shortened line. Porzingis was a 35.5% 3PT guy on 1.8 attempts in Europe.

I think Victor should focus on dominating the paint. Not sure his 3pt will ever become that good. Maybe his mid-range fares better.

He needs to keep practicing his shot. If he’s injury prone like Embiid it’s the only thing that can prolong his career
