It's definitely unprofessional to use such bias language in 'journalism,' but that's how most online publications operate these days. News is presented with unapologetic bias. This isnt the old days of neutrality and professionalism.

Tort case like this wouldn’t have a big payout as one would expect. It does depend on the severity of the injuries and the consequences of those injuries (he miss work, or get fired, what other ways was the victim affected, etc). But for the assault, like 10k after lawyer fees. It’s not a lot. It will be settled out of court because most law firms are mills that take on a shitload of these cases. All they do is gather documentation (photos of injuries), they put together a package and send a letter to the opposing counsel, they go back and forth until they settle on a number. It’s mind numbing and rarely do any of these attorneys go to court.
